The Duckhorn Portfolio is North America's premier luxury wine company, with eleven wineries, ten state-of-the-art winemaking facilities, five tasting rooms and over 2,200 coveted acres of vineyards spanning 37 Estate properties. Established in 1976, when vintners Dan and Margaret Duckhorn founded Napa Valley's Duckhorn Vineyards, today, our portfolio features some of North America's most revered wineries, including Duckhorn Vineyards, Decoy, Kosta Browne, Sonoma-Cutrer, Goldeneye, Calera, Greenwing, Paraduxx, Migration, Canvasback and Postmark. Sourcing grapes from our own Estate vineyards and fine growers in Napa Valley, Sonoma County, Anderson Valley, California's North and Central coasts, Oregon and Washington State, we offer a curated and comprehensive portfolio of acclaimed luxury wines with price points ranging from $20 to $230 across more than 15 varietals. Our wines are available throughout the United States, on five continents, and in more than 50 countries around the world.
The Senior Manager, Commercial Finance leads the Commercial Finance Center of Excellence — serving as the connective tissue between Finance and The Duckhorn Portfolio's commercial organization. This role owns gross-to-net revenue forecasting and analytics for both Wholesale and DTC channels, drives budget allocation and OpEx stewardship across Sales and Marketing, and provides the financial intelligence that enables smarter commercial decision-making. The Senior Manager acts as a thought partner and trusted advisor to commercial leadership, translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights aligned with the company's LRP and AOP objectives.
This is a hybrid position in St Helena, CA requiring in-office attendance as needed.
What we will ask you to do:

- Lead the trade spend forecast and accrual process with Accounting, tracking commitments against plan.
- Deliver monthly forecast vs. actuals variance analysis with a clear narrative on revenue and trade spend drivers, brand, channel, and customer-tier mix shifts.
- Support AOP and LRP revenue modeling, turning commercial strategy into a coherent multi-year plan.
Budget Management
- Own the Marketing and Sales OpEx budget framework with FP&A and Accounting, from planning and approval through tracking.
- Produce monthly OpEx reporting for Marketing and Wholesale, with variance commentary and reforecast inputs.
- Partner with Brand and Marketing on zero-based or investment-tiered budgets with clear ROI rationale.
Commercial Analytics Report
- Partner with RGM to track contracted distributor margins and flag variances that need corrective action.
- Lead NPD financial analysis with Brand and Operations, covering P&Ls, scenarios, and post-launch tracking.
- Build and maintain management reporting and dashboards that give commercial leaders decision-ready visibility into KPIs.
- Turn trends, risks, and opportunities across Sales, Marketing, and DTC into clear recommendations for senior leadership.
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA a plus
- 7–10 years of progressive finance experience in commercial finance, FP&A, or business partnering
- CPG, beverage alcohol, or luxury goods experience strongly preferred; wine industry a plus
- Experience with GTN modeling, discount management, and commercial P&L ownership
- Expert Excel modeling skills; Power BI or Anaplan strongly preferred;
- Ability to turn complex financials into clear, actionable stories for non-finance partners
- Strong influencing skills, with a record of driving decisions without formal authority
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple workstreams under tight deadlines
