We are seeking a Senior Manager of DevOps to lead DevOps engineers supporting IDEXX’s Veterinary Software and diagnostic software platforms, including customer-facing products that connect veterinary practices, diagnostic workflows, and cloud-based services. This role supports the strategy and execution behind reliable, secure, and scalable cloud operations, infrastructure security, CI/CD pipelines, and platform engineering capabilities. You will partner closely with Veterinary Software, diagnostic software, product engineering, security, and IT leadership to advance platform capabilities and ensure strong operational support for customer-facing software products. In this role you will… Lead and develop a team of DevOps engineers aligned to IDEXX’s Veterinary Software and diagnostic software product areas, setting priorities, coaching for growth, and ensuring strong operational execution. Partner with product engineering leaders to align DevOps support models, cloud infrastructure work, release enablement, and platform improvements with product roadmaps and business priorities. Drive infrastructure security practices, including access controls, vulnerability management, secure configuration, and compliance, in partnership with security and business leaders. Advance the DevOps team’s use of automation and AI-enabled workflows to increase deployment speed, reliability, developer productivity, and support efficiency. Evaluate and introduce tools and platform advancements that improve scalability, cost efficiency, resilience, and standardization. Manage incident response processes and drive root-cause analysis, operational readiness, and continuous improvement across supported software platforms. Own vendor and cloud cost management, ensuring efficient and secure use of cloud resources. What You Will Need to Succeed... 7-10+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, software operations, or platform engineering, with significant experience leading technical teams. Experience managing DevOps engineers who support commercial software products, SaaS platforms, or customer-facing application environments. Strong hands-on background with cloud platforms, especially AWS, as well as infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability, and container or serverless operating models. Demonstrated experience embedding security, compliance, and operational resilience into infrastructure lifecycle management and software delivery pipelines. Hands-on experience with observability platforms such as Datadog or CloudWatch for monitoring, alerting, and performance management. Proven track record of scaling and developing a DevOps or platform team, including hiring, coaching, org design, prioritization, and maturing operational processes. Experience leading teams through production incidents, operational reviews, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical strategy, operational risk, and product support needs for technical and non-technical stakeholders. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Location: Local, driving distance to our Westbrook, Maine headquarters with a flexible hybrid requirement of only 8 days per month on site. Alternatively, we will consider those in NH or MA that can visit less often. Nice to Have Experience supporting veterinary software, healthcare, diagnostics, regulated technology, or other mission-critical product environments. Familiarity with cost management, FinOps tooling, and multi-cloud environments.
