POSITION SUMMARY

Broadvoice is seeking a Senior Manager, Engineering to lead the b-hive Engineering team, a group of around 20 engineers and leads that builds our AI-powered UCaaS platform, including the Communicator apps (web, desktop, iOS and Android) and the Portal. Reporting to the VP of Software Engineering, this role owns day-to-day delivery and people management of b-hive, ensuring we ship reliable, scalable and intelligent communications to our customers.

We are looking for a manager who can turn the roadmap into predictable delivery, grow strong team leads and keep a high bar on quality, while fostering an agile, collaborative and innovation-focused culture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the b-hive Engineering team, managing the team leads and coordinating the work across Communicator and Portal.
  • Deliver the b-hive roadmap together with Product Management, ensuring clear specifications, realistic estimates and achievable timelines.
  • Deliver AI-driven features in b-hive that improve automation, analytics and customer experience.
  • Work with the Staff Engineers and leads on technical decisions, keeping the platform scalable, resilient and secure, aligned with the architecture direction defined within Engineering.
  • Hire, mentor and develop engineers and leads, owning onboarding, performance reviews and career growth.
  • Run planning, release and risk management, making explicit the trade-offs between scope, quality and time.
  • Define and follow delivery and quality metrics (e.g. lead time, change failure rate, escaped defects) and act on them.
  • Apply and improve engineering practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, code review standards and AI adoption in the SDLC.
  • Collaborate with QA, UX/UI, SRE and other engineering teams to ensure smooth and well-coordinated releases.
  • Support the VP in managing contractor capacity and vendor performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years in software engineering, including at least 4 years in people management, with experience managing team leads.
  • Proven track record leading teams of 10+ engineers delivering a cloud-based SaaS product in production.
  • Solid technical background in cloud-native architectures, microservices and distributed systems (AWS preferred).
  • Experience with web and mobile applications in production, ideally in the same product.
  • Experience with real-time communications systems (VoIP, SIP, WebRTC), ideally in UCaaS, CCaaS or adjacent sectors.
  • Experience delivering AI/ML features in production products.
  • Familiarity with agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and with using metrics to improve team performance.
  • Clear communication and stakeholder management, with hands-on credibility in technical discussions.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English (spoken and written).

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience bringing AI tools into the SDLC.
  • Experience managing contractor or vendor teams.
