Apogee Services Inc.

The Senior Manager, ERP & Financial Systems leads the strategy, delivery, governance, and support of the enterprise ERP and financial application portfolio. In this role, you will focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 as the organization advances its multi-year implementation and expansion, while overseeing existing SAP and Epicor platforms.

You will establish the long-term ERP operating model, including the people, partnerships, processes, and technical capabilities needed to support the portfolio. Responsibilities include developing resource strategies across internal teams, implementation partners, contractors, and managed service providers as Dynamics 365 expands and legacy platforms transition to managed services.

To be successful in this role, you will balance the demands of major ERP implementations with ongoing operational needs, thinking beyond individual projects to build sustainable enterprise capabilities. You will do this by partnering closely with Finance, business leadership, IT teams, and external partners to ensure ERP solutions are scalable, well-governed, and aligned with business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the enterprise ERP and financial systems portfolio, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 as the strategic platform and primary focus.
  • Provide technology leadership for the multi-year Dynamics 365 roadmap across Finance, operations, and future deployments.
  • Partner with business leaders to translate requirements and future-state processes into sustainable ERP solutions.
  • Develop lifecycle strategies for SAP and Epicor as the enterprise application landscape evolves.
  • Establish clear ownership, governance, standards, and decision-making processes across the portfolio.

ERP Capability and Resource Strategy

  • Develop a multi-year ERP resource strategy aligned with Dynamics 365 implementation, production support, and legacy application lifecycles.
  • Define the functional, technical, administrative, architecture, integration, security, and support capabilities needed to sustain the portfolio.
  • Determine the appropriate mix of internal employees, implementation partners, contractors, and managed service providers.
  • Evolve the resource model as Dynamics 365 expands and legacy platforms transition to managed services or retirement.
  • Address capability gaps through hiring, employee development, and external partnerships.
  • Maintain internal knowledge and ownership through succession planning, cross-training, and knowledge transfer.

Dynamics 365 Implementation and Platform Management

  • Lead application design, implementation, deployment, and ongoing operations for Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Establish the D365 operating model, including administration, functional and technical support, security, integrations, environments, and release management.
  • Partner with implementation teams to ensure solutions support long-term scalability and operational needs.
  • Establish standards for SDLC, CI/CD, testing, configuration, environment management, documentation, and production support.
  • Ensure multiple projects, releases, and business deployments operate effectively within a common enterprise D365 platform.
  • Manage the transition from implementation to ongoing application ownership and support.

SAP and Epicor Managed Services

  • Oversee SAP and Epicor applications throughout the ERP transformation.
  • Lead the transition of legacy application support to managed service providers, establishing clear accountability.
  • Manage service levels, performance, costs, escalations, knowledge transfer, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain internal business and technical knowledge while leveraging managed services for daily support.
  • Develop lifecycle and retirement strategies as legacy capabilities transition to strategic platforms.

Governance, Risk, and Controls

  • Establish ERP governance and technology standards in partnership with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, and Data & Analytics.
  • Partner with Security, Compliance, and Internal Audit to meet SOX, ITGC, security, segregation-of-duties, and change-management requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate controls across development, configuration, testing, deployment, security, and production support.
  • Establish consistent processes for application changes, enhancements, incidents, problems, and releases.

Integration, Data, and Enterprise Technology

  • Partner with Data & Analytics and Integration teams to establish sustainable approaches for ERP integrations, master data, reporting, and analytics.
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, cloud, integration, data, identity, monitoring, and security standards.
  • Coordinate across IT teams to address dependencies supporting Dynamics 365 and other ERP platforms.

Operational and Vendor Management

  • Oversee ERP application performance, including availability, incidents, enhancements, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage implementation and support partners, including service levels, quality, capacity, costs, and contractual commitments.
  • Develop and manage ERP budgets, forecasts, licensing, consulting expenses, and resource requirements.
  • Establish performance metrics and service expectations for internal teams and external partners.
  • Build strong relationships with Finance and business leaders as a trusted ERP technology partner.

People Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and mentor ERP and financial systems team members.
  • Build the capabilities required to support the future-state ERP environment.
  • Establish clear responsibilities, development plans, and performance expectations.
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and strong business partnerships.

Experience and Qualifications
