The opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Manager, Financial Controls Advisory to join our Internal Audit in our Plymouth, MN office on a hybrid schedule. This role is focused on the operational execution, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise internal control programs. This role leads SOX 404 compliance and ICFR control uplift initiatives, drives process and control enhancements across the organization, and provides advisory leadership to project teams. Acts as a strategic liaison between business units, Group Financial Control, and Audit partners to ensure alignment, accountability, and timely delivery of control objectives. Some of the Senior Manager, Financial Controls Advisory responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Facilitate alignment and integration with key organizational initiatives, including finance transformations and systems implementations, to ensure internal control requirements are embedded into design and execution.
• Lead enterprise ICFR risk assessments, identify control gaps, and develop pragmatic mitigation strategies in collaboration with Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Corporate Audit Services.
• Lead and prioritize the ICFR remediation and control uplift roadmap, balancing risk, effort, and business impact.
• Provide guidance and challenge to business stakeholders on control design and sustainability.
• Coach and review work products of project team members or contributors supporting SOX and ICFR activities.
• Establish consistent methodologies, standards, and documentation practices across regions and processes.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors on ICFR matters, managing scope alignment, issue resolution, and timely closure of audit requests.
• Work closely with the Group Financial Control team and prepare and/or review analysis and deliverables.
• Review ICFR and control uplift working papers for all business processes and regions.
• Prepare and present concise, risk‑focused updates to senior leadership on ICFR maturity, control deficiencies, and remediation progress, including key themes, trends, and recommended actions

The expertise you bring

• 8+ years of experience in internal controls, SOX compliance, and financial governance within a large organization.
• Proven track record of leading large-scale control and finance transformation initiatives.
• Strong technical knowledge of internal controls over financial reporting, IFRS, and regulatory frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver results under tight timelines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional designation (CPA or equivalent) preferred.
• Experience in financial institution sector, particularly insurance.
• Demonstrated expertise in data and analytics tools, including SQL, Power BI, Visio, and advanced Excel, with a proven ability to analyze, visualize, and present complex information effectively.

Our salary ranges are determined by many factors including location, role, experience and skillset of the candidate. The following ranges displayed reflect the target base salary for new hires; however, your recruiter will provide more specific compensation details during the hiring process. The typical base salary range for this position is: $162,000 - $190,000 based on the factors aforementioned. In addition to base salary, full time Intact employees are also eligible for bonus potential and a full range of benefits to include but not limited to:
