We are the world market leader for reusable packaging containers (RPCs) for fresh food and are constantly optimizing our products.

We help make the food supply cycle for the population more sustainable. With our RPCs, safety for food transport is improved, there is less waste of food and at the same time the lifespan of the products increases. Through our products and the need for less packaging materials we reduce the carbon footprint.

„The future is circular“

About the role: Based in Valencia (ES), reporting to the Director Technology & Operations Transformation and leading a team of two, you provide senior technology leadership for the digitalisation, automation and analytics enablement of IFCO's Operations Control Centre (OCC) and end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) process. Partnering closely with Digital/IT on the Databricks platform, you build a scalable OCC/O2C technology and data foundation that improves service, accelerates cash and reduces cost across 29 countries.

Key responsibilities:

  • Strategic OCC/O2C Technology Ownership – Define and own the global technology landscape and data architecture for the Operations Control Centre (OCC) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) process.
  • Automation & Platform Engineering – Identify manual, fragmented workflows and deliver automation, integration and tooling with measurable EBITDA impact.
  • Analytics Enablement & Strategy – Drive the roadmap for OCC/O2C analytics products on Databricks, aligned with Digital's mono-repo strategy, towards anomaly detection and predictive analytics.
  • IoT Integration – Guide the integration of IoT and telemetry data into OCC/O2C monitoring for predictive and prescriptive insights.
  • Governance & Standards – Establish global OCC/O2C data, platform and engineering standards for auditability, harmonisation and maintainability.
  • Change & Adoption Leadership – Act as senior change agent for the rollout and adoption of new tools, data products and reporting.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Partner with service centres and 3PLs, key customers, Finance, Digital/IT and IFCO leadership on technology standards, data interfaces and SLAs.
  • Benefits Realisation – Govern the technology initiative portfolio, quantify and report benefits, and feed Technology & Operations Transformation performance reviews.

We expect:

  • Educational Background – Master's degree in Engineering, Data/Computer Science, Information Systems or related.
  • Experience – Extensive experience in operations technology, analytics leadership, or supply chain digital transformation, with measurable impact in senior roles.
  • OCC/O2C Transformation Expertise – Proven success leading global or multi-regional O2C, OCC or fulfilment transformation programmes and operationalising analytics for business impact.
  • Advanced Data & Analytics Knowledge – Deep hands-on expertise in Databricks (Delta Lake, PySpark, SQL) and data/analytics governance; dbt, CI/CD and Power BI/Tableau are a plus.
  • Architecture, Integration & Automation – Solution architecture, systems integration (APIs, event streaming), workflow/RPA automation and DevOps/MLOps practices; cloud or Databricks certifications desirable.
  • Governance & Change Leadership – Track record establishing technology governance frameworks, leading change and technology programmes, and realising benefits.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management – Strong leadership in cross-functional and executive settings; excellent communication and influence across cultures and senior levels.
  • Languages & Mobility – Business-fluent English essential; Spanish strongly preferred; French, Italian or German an advantage. Travel ~20%.

We offer:

  • Make a difference where it matters – Play a key role in a sustainable and future-proof industry.
  • A culture of appreciation and respect – Join an international team where collaboration thrives.
  • Flat hierarchies, fast decisions – Your ideas matter and drive real change.
  • Work your way – Enjoy hybrid work and workation options.
  • Unlimited learning opportunities – Access to unlimited LinkedIn Learning.
