Position Summary:
Penn Foster Group's Product Portfolio Management team owns the strategy behind our program offerings, deciding where we build, expand, sell, or sunset offerings across our education and training portfolio. We are seeking a Senior Manager, Product Portfolio Management to own the Healthcare vertical, spanning allied health, clinical support, and adjacent career-training programs across both our direct-to-consumer (B2C) and employer (partnerships) businesses.
Reporting to the VP, Product Portfolio Management, this role is the market authority on healthcare workforce trends and the competitive landscape, translating that intelligence into a portfolio strategy that drives enrollment growth, learner outcomes, and revenue across both channels. The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of allied health career pathways and healthcare employment trends with sharp competitive intelligence instincts and the cross-functional influence to turn strategy into execution — without direct authority over the teams that build, market, and deliver these programs.

The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of allied health career pathways and healthcare employment trends with sharp competitive intelligence instincts and the cross-functional influence to turn strategy into execution — without direct authority over the teams that build, market, and deliver these programs.
Essential Job Functions:
- Serve as the organization's subject-matter expert on allied health career pathways, healthcare occupational trends, and the broader healthcare labor and employer market.
- Formulate how Penn Foster wins in healthcare across B2C and B2B, identifying new market segments, program concepts, and partnership opportunities and prioritizing the investments that most move outcomes and business results.
- Own the healthcare portfolio investment strategy (where to build, expand, divest, or sunset offerings) and maintain a program roadmap grounded in market evidence, unit economics, accreditation requirements, and learner outcome goals.
- Maintain a rigorous, ongoing view of the competitive landscape in healthcare education and training — competitor launches, pricing, partnerships, and positioning across consumer and employer channels.
- Monitor healthcare employment trends (labor shortages, hiring patterns, wage growth, credentialing requirements, site-of-care shifts) and translate them into actionable implications for the portfolio.
- Write clear, evidence-based program strategies: the problem, the market and competitive evidence, the target learner and/or employer, the size of the opportunity, and a measurable definition of success.
- Track portfolio performance. Own the diagnosis when a program falls short and work with the relevant teams to fix it.
- Work across the organization to move the portfolio forward without direct authority, serving as the source of market truth for the vertical and ensuring program promises are deliverable.
- Partner with Finance on healthcare P&L and unit economics.
- Travel as needed for market research, conferences, and team meetings.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in healthcare administration, public health, business, or a related field preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in product/portfolio strategy and/or strategy consulting, with meaningful exposure to the healthcare, allied health, or healthcare workforce/education space.
- Experience developing strategy that spans both B2C and B2B go-to-market motions.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills; comfortable working with enrollment, outcomes, and financial data to build a business case.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners without formal authority.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting demands in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Prior experience in online education, workforce training, or healthcare education strongly preferred.
