We are seeking a Senior Marketing Manager – Academic & Government Affairs to lead institutional activation across strategic accounts in identified markets.

This senior individual-contributor role will convert institutional access into sustained journals usage, researcher engagement, publishing participation and renewal evidence. You will build relationships with institutional stakeholders, government bodies, research funders and academic societies; address access and adoption barriers; represent Taylor & Francis at conferences and working groups; and lead integrated field and digital programmes that demonstrate measurable impact.

Working across Marketing, Sales, Editorial, Customer Experience, Product and external partners, you will bring strategic thinking, data-led decision-making, strong stakeholder communication and independent programme ownership to protect and grow Taylor & Francis's regional revenue streams in books and journals.

Key responsibility areas

  1. Institutional Engagement & Penetration Growth Drive institutional penetration through targeted engagement with librarians, research offices, nodal officers and consortium partners. Secure testimonials and case studies to demonstrate programme impact and support renewal negotiations.
  2. Government & Stakeholder Engagement Serve as primary representative at major government initiatives, policy forums and research funding consultations. Build senior relationships with government bodies and research funders to position Taylor & Francis as a strategic partner aligned with national research priorities.
  3. Usage & Researcher Activation Develop campaigns and training that help researchers discover and use content effectively. Lead usage labs and publishing programmes that convert access into sustained usage.
  4. Marketing Programme Ownership Own marketing calendar, audience segmentation and activation plans for strategic accounts. Coordinate webinars, campus programmes, multilingual resources and digital campaigns across institutional visits, roadshows and digital channels.
  5. Sub-Saharan Africa Partnership Activation Adapt engagement approaches for selected African partnerships, developing programmes around local research priorities with regional colleagues.
  6. Performance, Budget & Cross-Functional Delivery Set clear objectives and dashboards for campaign effectiveness. Manage budgets and agencies. Lead cross-functional governance across Marketing, Sales, Editorial, Customer Experience and Product teams.

Knowledge and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Substantial experience in institutional B2B marketing, academic publishing, research engagement, higher education or EdTech
  • Strong digital marketing capability including CRM, conversion measurement and dashboards
  • Excellent English with strong facilitation and presentation skills
  • Experience in matrix environments and willingness to travel regularly

Highly Desirable:

  • Familiarity with COUNTER or subscription analytics
  • Knowledge of researcher/publishing journeys and Open Research concepts
  • Hindi and/or additional Indian regional language

  • Shared Commitments: Leads innovative solutions with clear goals, uses diverse evidence, manages performance with discipline and prioritises strategically. Balances stakeholder needs with organisational objectives, collaborates across departments and empowers specialist expertise within an ethical and inclusive culture.

Additional information

We believe that great things happen when people connect face-to-face. That's why we work in-person with each other, or with customers and partners, three days a week or more. When you’re not spending time together in one of our offices or other workplaces – like at conference – you get the flexibility and support to work from home or remotely.

Location: The successful candidate will be able to utilise our balanced working model. We ask that candidates live within a commutable distance of our Delhi office to ensure that as a balanced worker they can make it to our office location to collaborate as required. There is an expectation for a minimum of 3 days per week in-person time.​
