Engineering has changed. We're changing with it. At clearer.io, we build the software that helps eCommerce merchants win on search, discovery, and customer engagement. Building that well, in this market, means the engineering behind it can't stand still either. AI has moved past being a coding aid, it's reshaping how software actually gets built, from spec to delivery, and we're moving with it rather than waiting for the dust to settle: agentic workflows, new tooling, new ideas about what a software factory even looks like. We build on and around Shopify, a platform that changes just as fast, so staying current isn't a nice to have here, it's the job.
That's why we're not hiring for where engineering was. We're hiring the next level of engineer, people who see this pace of change as the interesting part of the work, not something to survive until things settle down.
Your Impact:
You'll be the person who makes sure marketing can trust its numbers. Sitting at the intersection of marketing, product, and data, you'll own the pipelines and reporting that connect campaign and product activity — across Boost, REVIEWS.io, and Clearer — to real funnel and revenue outcomes. When leadership asks "how many trials actually converted, and where did they come from," your work is the reason there's a confident, defensible answer
This is a new role in the business — you'll sit within the data team but have a dotted line into Product and Marketing. The ideal candidate will have worked in a multi-disciplinary function before, bringing multiple departments and stakeholders along on the journey to a shared goal.
This is a remote role based in Vietnam.
what you'll do
-
Own and maintain the GA4 → PostHog data pipeline: connector configuration, event schema mapping, and end-to-end validation
-
Monitor data flow health and troubleshoot breakages across the ingestion chain, keeping accuracy above 99%
-
Investigate and improve identity/match-rate quality between anonymous events and known customers across web, Shopify, and Stripe sources
-
Build and maintain funnel and attribution dashboards (demo → lead → signup → install → trial → subscription, churn risk), reporting acquisition channels separately rather than blending them into misleading totals
-
Test and validate cross-domain/cross-system tracking assumptions rather than taking them on faith
-
Maintain clear documentation (Confluence data dictionaries, methodology notes) and manage related Jira tickets with clear scope and acceptance criteria
-
Present findings to marketing, product, and leadership in plain language — including where the data is genuinely uncertain
what you'll bring
Strong SQL skills, comfortable reconciling numbers across multiple source tables in a data warehouse (we use Databricks)
Hands-on experience with PostHog (or similar product analytics tooling) and Google Analytics 4, including event schema and pipeline/connector setup
Working knowledge of identity resolution concepts (distinct IDs, aliasing, identified vs. anonymous events) — or the ability to pick this up fast
A track record of building dashboards/reports for non-technical stakeholders
Comfort communicating data limitations honestly rather than smoothing over gaps
Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field.
life at clearer.io
eCommerce is crowded, noisy and increasingly complex. At clearer.io, we're built for a different outcome: clarity you can act on.
We connect to the stack a merchant already uses. Our AI agents enrich their catalogue, learn from their reviews and customers, and put that intelligence to work inside the tools they already own — so their products get found, trusted and chosen by shoppers and AI, without replatforming. We do this across our products: Clearer, Boost Commerce, REVIEWS.io and Influence, used by thousands of merchants worldwide.
We're a global team with offices in Australia, the UK, Germany, Vietnam and the US, backed for the long term by PSG Equity and Silversmith Capital Partners.
We care about doing the work properly: listening first, building second and shipping quickly where it matters. Results matter more than rhetoric.
What guides us day to day:
Customers at the heart: we obsess over their needs so we can grow together
Purposeful progress: we don't settle - we take initiative and embrace bold thinking
Endless innovation: we refine, improve, and take meaningful action
