Senior Mechanical Design Implementation

Join Amadeus, a global leader in travel technology, and help bring our Self Bag Drop solutions to airports around the world. As Senior Mechanical Design Implementation, you will be the first technical contact for customers after contract signature, travelling to airports to survey sites, understand real-world operating environments and shape how our Series 7 bag drop is deployed. You will lead early design, validation and sign-off, bridging mechanical and electrical design, manufacturing and project delivery to ensure every solution integrates reliably into existing baggage handling systems and meets functional, safety and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive early functional design for the Self Bag Drop product, from customer site surveys and meetings to supplier engagement;
• Visit customer airports to assess installation spaces, gather requirements and recommend how equipment should be deployed and adapted;
• Make sure the mechanical and electrical design fits reliably with existing baggage handling systems, electrical, safety and structural solutions;
• Oversee solution validation and give final sign-off on the customer solution before hand-over to Manufacturing;
• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Project, Product, Installation and Quality Assurance teams to deliver cost-effective products that meet performance, aesthetic and compliance needs;
• Contribute to developing new advisory services around passenger-flow design, creating additional value for customers.

About The Ideal Candidate

• Strong understanding of electromechanical systems, including conveyors and electronic control systems;
• Customer-facing experience, with the confidence to engage airports, gather requirements and build trusted relationships;
• A hands-on, multidisciplinary mindset, comfortable working across mechanical, electrical, manufacturing and compliance domains;
• Practical problem solver, able to adapt designs to customer-specific needs while considering health and safety, servicing and manufacturing implications;
• Willingness to travel to customer airports worldwide.
