Work Environment
This is a hybrid role with a mix of remote work and field involvement, requiring approximately 25% travel to job sites. Candidates should reside within reasonable proximity of a commercial airport to support travel requirements.
What You’ll Get to Do
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will develop and deliver engineering solutions for mechanical infrastructure upgrades and replacements across a broad range of customer projects. You will independently manage technical work while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams and maintaining clear communication with internal and external customers.
You will apply senior-level judgment to mechanical design, system studies, project coordination, quality review, code compliance, and permitting support. The role also contributes technical leadership by reviewing the work of others and helping projects meet schedule, budget, safety, and design expectations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop engineering solutions for mechanical infrastructure upgrades and replacements.
  • Manage project details and maintain timely, professional communication with internal and external customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform mechanical engineering analyses, system studies, calculations, designs, specifications, and documentation.
  • Lead the technical execution of HVAC, process cooling, boiler, heat exchanger, hydronic, and refrigeration system projects.
  • Review engineering and design work completed by others for accuracy, quality, constructability, and compliance.
  • Coordinate mechanical requirements and deliverables with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
  • Ensure project work satisfies applicable safety, code, design, and customer requirements.
  • Present designs and supporting documentation to Authorities Having Jurisdiction for plan review and approval.
  • Support project delivery to meet established schedule and budget expectations.
  • Participate in field activities, including site assessments and access by ladder when required.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Valid Mechanical Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • At least 7 years of experience managing highly technical HVAC mechanical design projects and mechanical systems studies.
  • Thorough knowledge of ASHRAE, MEP, and NFPA standards.
  • Strong expertise in hydronic and refrigeration systems for comfort cooling, including HVAC, process cooling, boilers, and heat exchangers.
  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound technical judgment, and contribute effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with customers and regulatory authorities.
  • Strong leadership, professionalism, organization, and work ethic.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% and climb ladders during site work.
