What are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mobile Software Engineer to join our distributed engineering team and help build a new iOS and Android application using React Native and TypeScript, with Swift and Kotlin for deeper platform and hardware integrations.

This greenfield product will leverage mobile capabilities such as cameras, location services, sensors, LiDAR, ARKit, RoomPlan, ARCore, and depth APIs. You’ll be involved across the full lifecycle, from architecture and development through testing, app store deployment, and ongoing support.

The role follows trunk-based development with no dedicated QA team, so engineers own their work end-to-end. You’ll also work in an AI-assisted engineering environment using tools such as Claude Code and Codex, alongside agile routines and JIRA-driven workflows.

What are you expected to do?

  • Mobile Application Development: Design and build a high-quality cross-platform mobile application using React Native and TypeScript for iOS and Android.
  • Native Platform Development: Develop native functionality in Swift and Kotlin when platform capabilities cannot or should not be implemented through the shared React Native layer.
  • Hardware Integration: Integrate with mobile device capabilities including cameras, LiDAR and depth sensing, GPS, motion sensors, and other platform-specific hardware.
  • iOS Spatial Technologies: Develop integrations with Apple technologies such as ARKit, RoomPlan, RealityKit, and LiDAR-enabled devices where required.
  • Android Spatial Technologies: Develop equivalent Android capabilities using ARCore, depth APIs, camera APIs, and supported device hardware.
  • Native Modules & Components: Design clean interfaces between React Native and native platform functionality, keeping hardware-intensive and performance-sensitive operations within the appropriate native layer.
  • Architecture & Design: Help establish the mobile application architecture, component structure, state management, native integration patterns, and engineering standards for a new product.
  • API Integration: Build secure and resilient integrations with backend APIs, authentication services, and supporting platform services.
  • Offline & Mobile Resilience: Design for intermittent connectivity, local storage, synchronisation, background operations, and recovery from interrupted workflows.
  • Performance: Ensure the application remains responsive when working with cameras, spatial data, images, device sensors, and other resource-intensive capabilities.
  • Security: Apply mobile security best practices including secure authentication, credential storage, data protection, and appropriate handling of sensitive application data.
  • Testing & Quality: Develop and maintain automated tests and take responsibility for the quality of your work without relying on a dedicated QA team.
  • App Distribution: Manage application builds, signing, provisioning, and deployment through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
  • CI/CD: Contribute to automated mobile build, test, and deployment pipelines.
  • Full Ownership: Take responsibility for technical design, development, testing, release, monitoring, and support of the functionality you deliver.
  • Technical Leadership: Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and engineering decision-making, and help establish strong mobile engineering practices within the team.
  • AI-Enhanced Development: Use AI-assisted development tooling such as Claude Code and Codex to improve productivity, quality, and delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve application architecture, development practices, tooling, performance, and user experience.

You’ll be a great fit if:

  • You have strong commercial experience building and maintaining production iOS and Android applications.
  • You have strong experience with React Native and TypeScript.
  • You have a strong understanding of mobile application architecture and cross-platform development patterns.
  • You have experience developing native iOS applications or components using Swift.
  • You have experience developing native Android applications or components using Kotlin.
  • You have experience integrating React Native applications with native platform APIs, SDKs, modules, or UI components.
  • You have experience working with mobile device hardware such as cameras, sensors, GPS, or other native device capabilities.
  • You have a good understanding of application performance, memory management, and resource constraints on mobile devices.
  • You have experience integrating mobile applications with REST APIs and authentication technologies such as OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
  • You have experience implementing secure local storage, offline workflows, and data synchronisation.
  • You have experience writing automated tests for mobile applications.
  • You have experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern source control practices, including trunk-based development.
  • You have experience preparing and publishing production applications through both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
  • You are comfortable owning quality end-to-end in an environment without a dedicated QA function.
  • You have a strong understanding of Agile/Scrum practices and JIRA-driven workflows.
  • You have excellent communication skills and can work collaboratively across product, engineering, and other technical teams.
  • You are comfortable working in an AI-assisted development environment.
  • You are amenable to work Monday to Friday (7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Manila Time).

We will be absolutely thrilled if you also have the following:

  • You have experience with Apple ARKit, RoomPlan, RealityKit, or LiDAR.
  • You have experience with Google ARCore, Depth API, or other Android spatial/depth technologies.
  • You have experience building applications involving spatial capture, 3D data, augmented reality, or computer vision.
  • You have experience processing, storing, or transmitting large image, video, spatial, or 3D datasets.
  • You have experience designing native React Native modules or components for performance-sensitive functionality.
  • You have experience taking a new mobile product from initial architecture through to production release.

What you gain beyond the role:

  • Remote + Hybrid Flexibility: Enjoy the best of both worlds—collaborative office days when it counts, balanced with the freedom to work from home.
  • Achieve Work-Life Balance and Flexibility: Work in an environment where you’re trusted and empowered to work independently, while still having the support you need to deliver your best. Here, flexibility isn’t just a perk—it’s how we help you perform at your best, without sacrificing life outside of work.
  • Open Culture: Your voice matters, we encourage proactive communication and fresh ideas.
  • Supportive Team: From your very first day to every career milestone, we’ve got your back—with long-term growth and projects you can truly thrive in.
  • Learn and Grow: Training, coaching, and international opportunities to level up your skills and career
  • Be part of a B-Corp company that puts people and planet first while creating meaningful impact.

Please note: This role is remote; however, we require candidates to be based locally in the Philippines. This is to support occasional onsite activities such as team events, client meetings, or equipment handover. Additionally, local residency is necessary for compliance with Philippines labor laws and employment regulations.
