Role Description The Senior Moodle Developer is a part-time, remote role responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Moodle-based learning management solutions. In this role, the individual will configure and customize Moodle plugins, themes, and functionalities to meet client requirements, and optimize performance, usability, and accessibility. Day-to-day tasks include integrating Moodle with third-party systems, managing upgrades and security patches, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring reliable platform operation. The Senior Moodle Developer will collaborate with internal HR and consulting teams to translate learning and development needs into effective technical solutions, document implementation details, and provide guidance on Moodle best practices.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Moodle development skills, including custom plugin and theme development, configuration, and maintenance.
• Candidates should possess solid backend and frontend technical skills, such as PHP, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as experience with APIs and system integrations.
• Candidates should possess experience with LMS administration and e-learning platforms, including course setup, user management, reporting, and content deployment.
• Candidates should possess skills in system performance optimization, security best practices, and troubleshooting within a Linux/Unix or cloud-hosted environment.
• Candidates should possess strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and quality.
• Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote, part-time setting.
• Beneficial qualifications include experience in HR, learning and development, or educational technology, and familiarity with Agile practices.
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
