About the Role

Hire Africa is looking for an exceptional Senior Motion Designer + Video Editor to lead video production and motion design projects for international clients and creative agencies.

We're looking for someone who combines outstanding technical ability with creative leadership.

You'll be responsible for producing high-quality video content, developing motion graphics, and overseeing the work of a junior creative professional.

You'll take ownership of projects from initial brief through to final delivery, ensuring everything meets international agency standards.

This is a hands-on senior role. You'll be expected to create exceptional work yourself while also managing, mentoring, and developing junior talent.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead video editing and motion design projects from concept through to final delivery.
• Edit high-quality videos for brand campaigns, corporate communications, digital advertising, and social media.
• Create professional 2D motion graphics, animated typography, transitions, and visual effects.
• Manage and mentor a junior video editor or motion designer.
• Delegate production tasks, review junior work, and provide constructive creative feedback.
• Take ownership of production quality, timelines, and project delivery.
• Transform raw footage and creative briefs into compelling, professionally finished content.
• Handle colour correction, audio editing, sound design, and post-production.
• Work from creative briefs, storyboards, and brand guidelines.
• Collaborate with international creative teams and communicate project progress.
• Establish efficient creative workflows and maintain consistent quality across projects.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience in video editing and motion design, with a portfolio demonstrating senior-level capabilities.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
• Demonstrated experience leading creative projects, mentoring junior creatives, or reviewing and directing other designers' work.
• Exceptional understanding of visual storytelling, pacing, typography, animation, and composition.
• Experience producing commercial, corporate, or agency-level creative work.
• Ability to independently interpret briefs and make strong creative decisions.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high production standards.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Ability to communicate effectively with international teams.
• Reliable internet connection and a professional remote working setup.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience working with UK, US, or European creative agencies.
• Experience managing a small creative team.
• Experience producing employer branding, recruitment marketing, or corporate storytelling videos.
• Experience with Cinema 4D, Blender, or other 3D animation software.
• Experience creating and improving video production workflows.
