Help rethink how students learn from written work in the age of AI.

Location: Copenhagen / Warsaw / Remote Type: Full-time

About edword

Writing is one of the main ways students think, learn, and show what they know. AI has changed what a text tells us about the person who wrote it.

Edword builds tools that help students and teachers understand the process behind written work — not just the final product. We’re an international team working with schools and school districts in the Nordics and around the world.

The role

We’re looking for an experienced .NET developer who enjoys taking responsibility beyond writing code.

You’ll play a key role in developing, maintaining, and improving our platform, working across backend development, databases, Docker-based infrastructure, and production systems.

We’re looking for someone who can understand complex existing systems, solve problems independently, and take ownership from development through deployment.

What you’ll do

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using C# / .NET.

• Work with MongoDB, data models, and application performance.

• Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Docker-based applications in production.

• Contribute to architecture, security, testing, and reliable deployments.

• Investigate and resolve issues across applications, databases, and infrastructure.

What we’re looking for

• 7+ years of professional development experience, with strong C# / .NET and ASP.NET Core skills.

• Strong practical Docker experience, including containers, networking, and deployments.

• Solid understanding of software architecture and experience maintaining production systems.

• Practical experience with databases, preferably MongoDB.

• Working knowledge of Linux, Git, and CI/CD.

• Strong problem-solving skills, technical independence, and good English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with GitLab CI/CD, networking, and infrastructure security.

• Interest in AI/LLM technologies. You’ll have the opportunity to work with AI if interested, but it’s not a requirement.

Why join us

• Work on technology that makes a difference for teachers and students.

• Join an international, experienced team that has worked together for more than eight years.

• Have real influence on technical decisions and the future of our platform.

• Enjoy a varied role with significant technical ownership and opportunities to explore new technologies.

How to apply

Send your CV and a short note about your interest to marie@edword.com.

Our process: (A) Intro call (B) Technical conversation (C) Meet the team.

We welcome applications even if you don’t meet every requirement.
