As a Senior Network Engineer within Optus Enterprise Professional Services, you will lead the design, implementation, and support of complex enterprise networking, security, wireless, and IP telephony solutions for customers across a range of industries. Acting as a senior technical expert, you will work closely with customers, project teams, architects, and sales stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes, provide consultancy services, and drive successful project delivery. The role combines deep technical expertise, customer engagement, solution design, mentoring, and technical leadership to ensure exceptional customer experiences and successful business outcomes.
Due to the nature of our Federal Government customers, applicants must be Australian Citizens and hold a current NV1 AGSVA Security Clearance
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and support complex enterprise networking, security, wireless, storage, and IP telephony solutions for Optus customers.
- Lead technical delivery activities throughout project lifecycles, including system analysis, solution design, implementation, testing, migration, and troubleshooting.
- Partner with customers, project managers, and delivery teams to ensure successful project execution, effective communication, and outstanding customer outcomes.
- Support pre-sales activities by contributing to solution scoping, technical reviews, effort estimation, proposals, and customer engagement activities.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior and mid-level engineers, sharing knowledge, best practices, and engineering expertise.
- Drive continuous improvement through technical certifications, knowledge sharing, innovation, adherence to quality standards, and contribution to engineering best practices.
What You'll Bring
- 8+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise networking, unified communications, security, wireless, and infrastructure solutions.
- Proven experience as a technical lead delivering complex customer projects, including solution design, implementation, troubleshooting, and customer-facing consultancy.
- Strong expertise across Cisco networking technologies, including routing and switching, MPLS, QoS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IPv4/IPv6, security, wireless, and collaboration platforms.
- Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIP, CCVP, CCIE, or equivalent, with a commitment to maintaining and expanding technical expertise.
- Exceptional customer engagement, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience diagnosing complex technical issues and delivering practical, customer-focused solutions.
- Commercial awareness and experience supporting pre-sales activities, solution scoping, technical proposals, and project profitability.
- A collaborative and proactive mindset, with the ability to mentor others, work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and deliver results in fast-paced customer environments.
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to customer sites as required.
- Flexibility to participate in after-hours project implementations, customer support activities, and occasional interstate travel when business needs require.
