Senior Network Engineer – Cisco & Routing

Our client, a leading organization in the energy infrastructure sector, is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to manage their mission-critical industrial and office network environments. The successful candidate will design, secure, and maintain a multi-national network infrastructure spanning across several European locations while supporting cloud integration and automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain IT and OT network systems to support 24/7 business operations.
• Implement and manage routing and switching protocols across a mostly Cisco-based infrastructure.
• Secure the network environment using advanced firewall technologies and software-defined solutions.
• Develop automation scripts to streamline network operations and configuration management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional ICT teams to provide connectivity and infrastructure support for various projects.
• Participate in a standby rotation to ensure continuous service availability for international stakeholders.
  
  

Requirements

• 8+ years experience in routing and switching protocols including OSPF, ISIS, MP-BGP, and MST.
• 8+ years experience with Cisco network hardware including ASR, ISR, Catalyst, and Nexus devices.
• 8+ years experience managing Cisco Wireless infrastructure.
• 8+ years experience with cloud technologies, specifically Microsoft Azure.
• 8+ years experience in network automation using Python or Ansible.
• 8+ years experience with Cisco ACI or Cisco SD-WAN.
• Experience with security technologies including Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as NAC and central syslog.
• You possess a background in computer science, a proactive mindset, and are willing to travel within Belgium.
• You are fluent in English with professional proficiency in Dutch or French.

• Knowledge of TACACS and RADIUS servers.
• Experience with Zabbix, Elastic, or Cisco ISE.
  
  

Offer

• Start date: 16/11/2026.
• Duration: 1 year (renewable).
• Work regime: Full-time.
• Location: Brussels.
• Working model: Hybrid (onsite 5 days per week for the first 3 months, thereafter 3 days per week onsite).
• Contract: open to both permanent employees and freelancers.
