Help strengthen a global community working to defeat meningitis

Meningitis Research Foundation is looking for an organised, collaborative and relationship-focused Senior Officer to help deliver an excellent membership experience for the Confederation of Meningitis Organisations (CoMO).

CoMO is a worldwide network of organisations and individuals working to defeat meningitis. In this varied role, you will manage the day-to-day member journey, helping members connect, participate in opportunities and contribute to the charity’s wider work.

Reporting to the Senior CoMO Manager, you will coordinate membership processes, communications, virtual events, surveys, data, World Meningitis Day activity and governance administration.

The role

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the member journey, from enquiries and applications through to onboarding, engagement, renewal and exit
  • Building effective relationships and providing clear, tailored communications for different member groups
  • Planning and delivering accessible, engaging virtual events across global time zones
  • Coordinating the annual member survey and turning feedback and engagement data into useful insight
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant membership records across relevant systems
  • Delivering CoMO member activity for World Meningitis Day
  • Administering the member advocacy fund application and award process
  • Supporting CoMO Advisory Council meetings, including papers, minutes and action tracking.

About you

We are looking for someone with experience of coordinating a membership programme, network, community, customer journey or stakeholder service.

You will bring:

  • Strong project, event and relationship-management skills
  • Experience of developing tailored engagement journeys for different audiences
  • Confidence using CRM or membership databases, survey tools, email platforms and digital engagement systems
  • Experience organising and facilitating engaging online events
  • The ability to maintain accurate records, analyse feedback and produce clear, impactful reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for multicultural and multilingual audiences
  • A strong understanding of data protection, consent and confidentiality
  • A commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and respectful involvement of people with lived experience
  • Flexibility to work across global time zones when required.

Experience within a charity, membership body, patient organisation or civil society network would be particularly valuable. Knowledge of global health, advocacy, meningitis or lived-experience involvement would also be welcomed, as would additional language skills, particularly French, Arabic or Spanish.

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to play a central role in supporting a diverse, international network united by a shared ambition to defeat meningitis. You will work across Meningitis Research Foundation, helping members connect, learn, share their expertise and take part in meaningful global activity.

Other benefits

  • 25 days’ annual leave, plus statutory and public holidays
  • 6% employer pension contribution, alongside a 2% employee contribution
  • Two paid volunteering days each year
  • Time off in Lieu to support a healthy work-life balance
  • Access to employee discounts through Peninsula
  • BUPA-backed Employee Assistance Programme for you and your immediate family.

How to apply

Please submit:

  • Your current CV; and
  • A covering letter explaining your interest in the role and how your experience meets the person specification to talent@maningitis.org
