Overview The Senior Offtake Strategist will work with buyers to scale corporate offtake and accelerate the deployment of high-quality carbon removal, super pollutant credits, RECs, and SAF. This role is essential to scale high-quality carbon management and achieve our mission of helping companies decarbonize. Responsibilities Support setting sales targets and developing and executing the funnel for high-quality offtake Own the acquisition and growth of key offtake accounts Support buyers with portfolio design and execution, navigating complex trade-offs between credit types, durability, and prices Collaboratively design and develop offtake structures that help buyers meet their climate goals and accelerate high-quality carbon projects into the market Engage buyers on business development, sales, and partnership development Manage project developer relationships, providing sales updates and general market insights to inform the evolution of their offerings Drive successful negotiations between buyers and developers, bringing a credible, independent perspective that bridges understanding and creates alignment on key deal terms Support development of procurement strategy and market insight deliverables, synthesizing patterns across a breadth of buyer and developer conversations Work with marketing and leadership teams on processes and tactics to ensure successful interactions across offtake prospect engagements Work strategically with Carbon Direct teams to improve conversion and retention rates. Create connective tissue between the marketing, sales, and account management functions Qualifications Proven track record of identifying, negotiating, and managing strategic offtake/sales for inventory-based businesses that have driven revenue growth and market expansion. Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with key clients and partners Familiarity with offtake agreement structuring, contract negotiations, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Experience building business development and/or sales pipelines. Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills to assess market dynamics, identify opportunities, and make data-driven decisions. Strong understanding of the carbon management and sustainability sector. Ability to succinctly articulate complex concepts in client-facing materials. Deep understanding of nature-based solutions is an asset. Familiarity with high-durability carbon removal approaches beneficial. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, startup environment. Proficient in CRM software. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
