Senior OSS Developer — Python (Remote)

What you’ll do Drive the development of our open-source tools like httpie/httpie (50K+ stars on GitHub) Implement features with uncompromising simplicity and top-notch user experience Write high-quality documentation, blog posts, and other technical content Respond to GitHub issues and pull requests Manage releases on various channels (PyPi, Homebrew, Linux, Windows, …) Contribute code and ideas to the overall platform Respond to questions on StackOverflow and Discord You’ll be a great addition to the team if you have At least 5 years of software engineering and Python experience Demonstrated ability to lead the development of an open-source project Excellent English and technical writing skills Solid understanding of HTTP and modern APIs Passion for developer tools and sense for what makes them amazing Passion for simplicity and delightful user experience Good sense for when to choose a robust vs. minimal solution to move fast Ability to comfortably navigate the ladder of abstraction Eagerness to learn and share Bonus points Experience with Rust or Go Experience building a technology product Early-stage startup experience History of side projects Entrepreneurial spirit What we offer Competitive salary and equity MacBook Pro, 5K display, and accessories Company-paid co-working space Work remotely
