The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly technical, detail-oriented Paid Search Specialist to own our Google Ads execution across our global markets. You will be responsible for capturing intent at scale, ensuring our Search, Shopping, and PMAX campaigns are not just running, but are technically superior to our competitors.

You are someone who looks "under the hood." You don't just accept Google’s auto-recommendations; you use scripts, data warehouse insights, and technical audits to find the edge that others miss.

About the Role

Google is where we capture demand that already exists, and at the moment we are not capturing enough of it. We are looking for a senior paid search specialist to take full ownership of the Google Ads account.

This is a lead role. You will not be handed a plan to implement. We expect you to audit what is there, tell us what is wrong with it, make the case for what should change, and then build it.

You are someone who looks under the hood. You do not accept Google's auto recommendations at face value, and you know the dashboard only shows you part of what is happening.

What you will own

The account: Build, manage and scale Search, Shopping and Performance Max across our markets. You own structure, budget allocation, bidding strategy and the campaign roadmap.

Audits and gap finding: Run structured audits across Google Ads, Merchant Center, Search Console and conversion tracking (GTM/gtag). We want you to find keyword and search term gaps before anyone asks: demand we have no coverage for, terms we pay for that we already rank for organically, queries landing on the wrong page, and markets where our share of voice does not match the opportunity.

Technical health: Conversion tracking accuracy, feed quality, Merchant Center diagnostics, disapprovals, and landing page localisation. When a feed breaks or a tag drops, we want to hear about it from you, ideally after you have already started fixing it.

Market localisation: Lead country level keyword research and ad copy adaptation. Our presence in Germany or Sweden should feel local rather than translated. You do not need to speak every language, but you do need a reliable method for getting local search behaviour right.

Commercial performance: Manage against CAC and contribution targets rather than platform ROAS alone, and be able to explain the difference when a campaign looks good in the dashboard but is not earning its place.

Working across channels: Collaborate with our paid social specialist, SEO and the CRM team so search fits into a full funnel setup rather than running as a silo.

What we are looking for in you

You have owned an ecommerce account rather than worked on one. You have made the structural calls, argued for them, and lived with the consequences.

You understand the engine. You know how to run Performance Max without losing visibility and control, and you know what broad match actually requires before it works in a smart bidding setup.

You think commercially. A 3x ROAS campaign can be unprofitable and a 1.5x campaign can be a win, and you can explain why in terms of margin, AOV and payback rather than platform metrics.

You are sceptical about data. Platform reported conversions and backend revenue rarely match, and you have a view on why that happens.

You automate your own work. Scripts, Apps Script, spreadsheets, Python, n8n, whatever suits. You do not run the same manual check fifty times.

You operate well remotely. You raise problems early and in writing, without waiting to be asked.

Requirements

Required:

● Proven experience managing Google Ads for ecommerce at scale, covering Search, Shopping and Performance Max

● Hands on ownership of Merchant Center and product feed quality, rather than receiving a feed that someone else maintains

● Experience running paid search across multiple countries

● Working knowledge of GA4 and GTM, including debugging conversion tracking

● Fluent English with strong written communication, since this is a remote, writing first team

High priority:

● Technical depth on tracking: enhanced conversions, consent mode, deduplication, offline conversion imports

● Experience diagnosing and fixing Merchant Center disapprovals and feed driven performance problems

Preferred:

● Exposure to incrementality testing (geo holdouts, conversion lift studies) or attribution platforms such as Fospha, Triple Whale, Northbeam or Measured

● Google Ads scripts, or account monitoring automated by some other means

● Experience with Funnel.io / Looker / Sigma or similar cross channel reporting tools

Not needed - but a bonus: additional European languages (DE, FR, NL, SE)
