Senior Paraplanner
Granada Wealth AdvisoryGranada is an Australian financial advice practice based in Sydney, New South Wales. We are hiring an experienced Senior Paraplanner in the Philippines to join our offshore team. You will work directly with our Australian financial advisers to prepare compliant, high-quality advice for clients across Australia. You will handle complex cases on your own, check the work of junior paraplanners, and act as a technical resource for the team.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, aligned to Australian Eastern business hours (e.g., 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM Philippine Time)
Reports to: Paraplanning Manager / Principal Adviser
Advice Preparation
- Prepare Statements of Advice (SOAs) and Records of Advice (ROAs) for complex Australian clients that are accurate, clear, and written in plain English.
- Review fact-finds, adviser file notes, and client data to find gaps, and raise questions with advisers before drafting.
- Develop and model strategies across superannuation, retirement income, SMSFs, personal insurance, investments, Centrelink/DVA entitlements, aged care, tax, and estate planning.
- Research and compare Australian platforms, managed funds, and insurance products, and document the reasons for each recommendation, including product replacement analysis.
- Run cash flow projections, retirement modelling, and Centrelink means-testing calculations using planning software and Excel.
Technical & Compliance
- Make sure all advice meets the Corporations Act 2001 best interests duty and related obligations, ASIC regulatory guidance, the Code of Ethics for financial advisers, and our licensee's standards.
- Peer-review documents prepared by junior paraplanners before they go to Australian advisers.
- Keep up with Australian legislative changes, such as superannuation contribution caps, the transfer balance cap, tax changes, and the Delivering Better Financial Outcomes (DBFO) reforms, and brief the team on how they affect advice.
- Help respond to licensee audits and fix any file issues they find.
- Handle Australian client information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012.
Adviser Support & Implementation
- Work with advisers through Teams, and email on strategy, and raise concerns when a recommendation may not suit the client.
- Prepare annual review packs, meeting agendas, fee disclosure statements, and ongoing fee renewal documents.
- Complete platform applications, insurance applications, and rollover forms, and follow up with Australian product providers.
- Keep client records in our CRM accurate and up to date.
- Note that this role does not give financial advice directly to clients; all advice is delivered by our Australian authorised representatives.
Leadership & Process Improvement
- Mentor, train, and support junior and associate paraplanners in the Philippine team.
- Help improve SOA templates, checklists, and workflows.
- Manage work across several Australian advisers while meeting agreed turnaround times.
- A bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, Business Administration (Financial Management), or a related field.
- At least 4–5 years of paraplanning experience, with a minimum of 3 years supporting Australian financial advisers.
- Proven experience with complex cases such as SMSFs, trusts, business owners, retirement income, and Centrelink planning.
- Hands-on experience with Australian advice software such as AdviserLogic, plus advanced Excel and Word skills.
- Familiarity with major Australian platforms (e.g., HUB24, Netwealth, BT Panorama, Macquarie Wrap, CFS), Insurers (e.g., NEOS, AIA, PPS, TAL etc) and research tools such as Morningstar.
- An Australian Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning, or willingness to complete one with company support.
- CPA, CFP, or RFP (Registered Financial Planner) certification in the Philippines.
- Experience with insurance quoting and comparison tools.
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian superannuation, tax, insurance, and social security rules.
- Excellent written English, including Australian spelling and business conventions.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly across time zones.
- Good time management and the ability to prioritise several advisers' deadlines.
- Integrity and discretion when handling confidential client information.
- A stable, high-speed internet connection with a backup connection (e.g., pocket Wi-Fi or a second provider).
- A backup power source, such as a UPS or generator, to handle power interruptions.
- A quiet, private workspace suitable for confidential client work and video calls.
- Willingness to follow company security protocols, including VPN, multi-factor authentication, and company-issued devices.
- A competitive monthly salary of ₱25,000 – ₱40,000, based on experience.
