Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology, empowering legal professionals and law firms of every size to work smarter, faster, and more securely.
We are transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.
Summary:
Since its founding in 2008, Clio has scaled from a cloud-based practice management solution for small to mid-sized firms to the global leader in legal AI, trusted by over 400,000 legal professionals in more than 130 countries. Much of that trust was built through intentional relationships with bar associations and law societies by working with leadership and staff to provide exclusive training and discounts for members. As a result, Clio has earned endorsements from bars in all 50 states and more than 100 worldwide.
Winning a bar partnership and managing that relationship, however, are two different things, especially when there are three unique yet overlapping programs at play: Clio Affinity, Clio Library and the new Preferred Bar Program that gives bar members access to Clio Work. From helping Bars establish and grow their Clio programs to resourcing their day-to-day needs to triaging support requests across departments within Clio, owning that entire process is crucial to our Bar Partnerships success. That is this role.
As Senior Partner Operations Manager, Bars, you will be responsible for the relationships, resourcing and reporting of partnerships with a subset of targeted partners. You will help with recruiting, onboarding, sponsorship and growth of these programs that touch all of Clio’s products and solutions, and you will be the go-to source for any internal troubleshooting or support requests from both bar staff and the internal team. Much of this will be done remotely, but there will also be travel involved where you may present to Clio’s current or potential partners as well as interface with Bar staff and leaders. You may also have specialized responsibilities within the Bar Partnerships team designed to help with certain programs and to develop and execute SOPs for key external parties.
Who you are:
We are looking for a high energy individual that knows how to problem solve and loves helping others succeed. You are a bit of jack of all trades, with an ability to quickly understand and speak to the big picture but also get down in the weeds to solve a problem. You cheerfully get the job done, whether it requires high-level strategic thinking or correcting erroneously entered data. You relish being the go-to person for a project and you also love building and maintaining relationships. This includes both having a spirit of patience but also being ready to move at velocity. You are a troubleshooting expert and a consummate people person with a positive outlook and deep empathy for ensuring that our team and customers are understood and expectations are not only met, but exceeded.
What your team does:
Under the umbrella of the Business Development Department, our Bar Partnerships team works with bars, bar Associations and law societies of all shapes and sizes to promote Clio solutions to those organizations’ members. This includes member discount and royalties through our Clio Affinity program, institutional purchases of legal research through Clio Library and legal AI adoption through the Preferred Bar Program with Clio Work. Program access, sponsorships, resourcing, marketing, troubleshooting, and triaging support requests that ultimately lead to the growing adoption of Clio products are all a focus of this team.
What you'll work on:
Daily Partner Relationship Management
- Own the day-to-day relationship on an operational level for a portfolio of bar partners across Affinity, Library and the Preferred Bar Program (PBP), serving as the named single point of contact in partnership with the bar relationship owner, owning and directly resolving day-to-day partner issues.
- Build durable relationships with bar leaders, program staff and member-benefit committees, and represent Clio at bar conferences and executive events.
- Advise partners on how to meet their goals, bringing Clio’s point of view on their priorities and pressures.
- Drive partner intelligence back into Clio, including priorities, leadership changes, renewal risk and competitive activity, so Marketing, Sales, Product and leadership can act on it in time.
Partnership Operations & Growing the Relationship
- Lead quarterly business reviews on performance against goals, member adoption and program results.
- Own annual partnership goals and the commercial reporting that tracks them (e.g., PBP signups, trial activations, conversions, member adoption, portfolio health).
- Drive commercial continuity across the portfolio by bringing legacy and lapsed agreements current and consolidating partners onto a single agreement covering the full product suite.
- Drive partnership growth through Affinity and Library as the baseline and PBP as an earned tier, managed as one coordinated program rather than three.
- Own day-to-day administration of discount terms and royalty structures, directing and troubleshooting with Finance and Sales Ops, who own the underlying systems and payments.
- Recommend sponsorships and bar meeting attendance, and build the business case for each.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Onboarding
- Be the general contractor for troubleshooting problems and providing everything partners need from Clio across Partner Marketing, Bar Enablement, Support, Finance and Product, diving into the details, setting clear ownership, and ensuring prompt delivery and resolution, as well as owning the operational success of program launches.
- Own partner escalations end to end, coordinating internal responses and keeping partners informed, and route member and product support issues to Support.
- Own post-signature onboarding, including the Salesforce record, contacts, commercial terms, onboarding checklist and launch readiness.
- Own promo code permissions and the shared bar partnerships inbox, triaging, directly resolving, and when appropriate routing requests to the right internal owner.
What you bring:
- 8+ years in project management or similar type role with high level of external, customer-facing experience
- Experience working cross functionally with marketing, sales/membership and other departments
- Comfort and confidence in facilitating in-person and remote meetings, as well as presenting to large groups and handling one-on-one support requests
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRMs and other Saas tools
- Ability to self-learn and work autonomously once given a goal; digesting digital information and resourcing from online sources only is a must
- Understanding and experience of nurturing a program or project from birth to success to growth through appropriate resourcing and relationship-building
- The patience and mentality to prioritize work requests and stay responsive to team and customer needs
Bonus points if you have:
- A JD, LLM, or equivalent law degree from a U.S. law school.
- Experience working in bar associations
- Proficiency with Clio products
- Background in the law, legal tech and/or AI
