Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Work Shift: 8pm to 5am (Philippines) Flexibility in schedule / Shifting Primary Function/General Purpose of Position The Financial Navigator (Expert) is responsible for comprehensive patient financial management , including leading complex and high  risk patient financial cases. The Navigator conducts patient financial navigation and patient fiscal need assessments while serving as an escalation resource for nuanced reimbursement and assistance scenarios. They will work closely with providers, patients, hospital staff, and practice administration to determine and execute the most appropriate fiscal solutions, providing advanced analytical and operational support for facility administration and financial related activities including drug recovery, billing and payment processes, and financial performance evaluation. The role is accountable for navigating complex assistance pathways to reduce patient financial burden and minimize unrecovered drug and service costs, while also mentoring and guiding Financial Navigator Specialists. Additionally, this role will t rain and onboard new Financial Navigator staff on systems, processes, and best practices, while teaching the team and documenting process updates. Essential functions are the reason a job exists. · Evaluate patients for assistance ; enroll and counsel regarding Patient Assistance Programs (PAP), including expert-level review and resolution of complex or nonstandard eligibility cases. · Manage drug procurement for indigent and underinsured populations and all aspects of drug recovery programs within local facilities; ensure all accounts are submitted for recovery accurately and in a timely manner , serving as a subject matter expert for recovery process optimization. · Develop and maintain a close interface with all components of the drug recovery and copay assistance process including patients, key hospital departments, and drug manufacturers and/or foundations. · Monitor insurance payments for infusion services and identify opportunities for copay or foundation assistance ; submit and track claims to copay assistance programs and charitable foundations, independently handling escalations and payer exceptions. · Maintain and govern patient assistance documentation and tracking to support audit readiness, financial recovery validation, and downstream reporting. · Communicate with internal teams regarding payment discrepancies or assistance program updates, providing guidance on best practices and process improvements. · Serve as the escalation point for complex manufacturer, foundation, or payer assistance issues that cannot be resolved through standard PAP workflows. · Train and onboard new PAP Navigator staff on systems, processes, and best practices. Provide guidance , coaching, and mentorship to PAP Navigator specialists. Can serve as deputy of the supervisor as needed. · Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements, including privacy standards. · Protect and appropriately handle protected health information (PHI) in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines. Licensing/Certification N/A (required) Certified Pharmacy Technician ( CPhT ) – Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (preferred) Education Ba c helor’s Degree (required) - Specialty/Major: Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field Master’s Degree (preferred) - Specialty/Major: Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field Work Experience 3+ years of experience in healthcare billing, financial services, revenue cycle , and/or BPO (required) 5+ years of experience in patient financial advocacy, drug recovery programs, or specialty pharmacy assistance environments, including escalation ‑ level case handling (preferred) Training Completion of the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) Financial Advocacy Boot Camp is preferred at the time of hiring and required within the first three (3) months of employment.
