COMPENSATION

$65,000 to $80,000 + benefits

SCHEDULE

Full time

ABOUT THE ROLE

Integrity PSC is hiring a Senior Payroll Specialist to own multiple payroll cycles across multiple company divisions from start to finish and get it right every single time. This is a remote role for someone based in the Phoenix Metro area.

You will be the go-to owner for payroll, garnishments, new state setups, and timecard questions. You will also build the processes and SOPs that make our payroll function run smoothly as we grow and move toward a new ERP.

If you are an experienced payroll pro who has hit a ceiling and want a clear path into job costing, project accounting, and business operations, this role was designed with you in mind.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Own all payroll cycles

■ Process weekly, bi-weekly, and bi-monthly payroll accurately and on time, with full ownership of the results

■ Review, reconcile, and resolve timecard issues so employees and managers get quick, clear answers

■ Set up new employees in payroll and benefits, and keep employee records current

Garnishments and benefits

■ Manage wage garnishments from start to finish, including coordination with attorneys and agencies

■ Administer benefit deductions and partner with the benefits team on enrollments and changes

Union fringe

■ Calculate and track union fringe benefits accurately across trades and agreements

■ Prepare fringe reporting and remittances to union funds

New state registrations

■ Set up the company to pay employees in new states: Secretary of State business licenses, Department of Labor registrations, state payroll accounts, and third-party administrator (TPA) setup

■ Keep a clear tracker of state accounts, registrations, and renewals

Build processes and SOPs

■ Document payroll, garnishment, timecard, and new state setup processes as clear, repeatable SOPs

■ Spot gaps and inefficiencies and recommend practical fixes

■ Help train and support a teammate who is newer to our systems, with patience and clear direction

Support the future ERP conversion

■ Bring a working understanding of how payroll data flows into an ERP

■ Contribute to data cleanup, mapping, and testing as we move off QuickBooks Desktop

WHAT YOU BRING

We value real experience over a degree. If you have done the work, we want to talk.

■ 5+ years of hands-on payroll experience at a mid to senior level, with full cycle ownership

■ Strong experience with wage garnishments, including working with attorneys and agencies

■ Working knowledge of union fringe benefits and fringe reporting

■ Experience registering a company in new states for payroll (Secretary of State, Department of Labor, state accounts, TPAs)

■ Expert level QuickBooks skills, Experience in Rippling or similar payroll system

■ Experience with benefits deductions, timecard review, and new hire payroll setup

■ A track record of writing processes or SOPs that others actually use

■ High attention to detail and a commitment to getting payroll right every week

■ Clear, patient communication with employees, managers, and teammates who are still learning

■ Comfort with ambiguity and change as systems and processes evolve

■ Lives in the Phoenix metro area and can meet in person occasionally

NICE TO HAVE

■ Experience with a construction ERP such as Sage or Viewpoint Vista

■ Involvement in an ERP conversion or system migration

■ Certified payroll knowledge (not required today, but a strong plus)

■ Rippling experience (Rippling is our payroll system and handles our tax filings)

■ Exposure to job costing, cost accounting, or project accounting

■ Experience in the electric utility or construction industry

GROWTH PATH

This role is a launchpad, not a ceiling. Once payroll is running smoothly, you will have room to grow into cost accounting, job costing, project accounting, and broader business operations.

HOW WE WORK

This is a fully remote role, but we like to connect face to face now and then. Expect more time together during your first 90 days, then about once a quarter after that. In person time is relaxed, often as simple as lunch with the team, not regular office attendance.

WHY INTEGRITY

■ A payroll function you get to shape, with real ownership from day one

■ A clear path from payroll into accounting and operations

■ A team that values experience, practical problem solving, and getting it right

■ Competitive pay of $65,000 to $80,000, plus benefits
