About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Pega Front-end Developer to join a major enterprise transformation programme in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The ideal candidate will combine strong hands-on experience with Pega Constellation, DX API and ReactJS with expertise in modern UI development, UX design and enterprise application integration.

This role involves designing and developing modern front-end applications integrated with Pega Case Management solutions, while contributing to UX transformation initiatives and collaborating with business stakeholders, solution architects and development teams.

The successful candidate will play an important role in creating scalable, reusable, responsive and accessible user experiences for complex enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

Front-end Development & Pega Integration

• Design, develop and maintain modern user interfaces using Pega Constellation and DX API.
• Build custom front-end applications using ReactJS, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Develop reusable UI components and component-based front-end frameworks integrated with Pega.
• Extend Pega's out-of-the-box capabilities through custom React applications.
• Integrate React front ends with Pega Case Management and workflow solutions using DX APIs.
• Design and develop headless front-end applications based on the solution architecture.
• Develop and integrate bespoke UI components with Pega applications.
• Implement responsive, mobile-first and accessible user experiences.
• Work with REST APIs, microservices and database integrations.
• Collaborate with Pega architects and back-end developers to ensure seamless end-to-end functionality.
• Support low-code development and UI configuration within Pega Case Management.
• Contribute to the development of geo-applications, including map servers and OpenLayers.

UX Consulting & Design Leadership

• Lead UX discovery workshops, design thinking sessions and stakeholder interviews.
• Analyse business processes and user journeys to identify opportunities for improving the user experience.
• Translate business requirements into effective UX and front-end solutions.
• Develop personas, customer journey maps, wireframes, prototypes and interaction designs.
• Define UX standards, accessibility guidelines and design governance for Pega applications.
• Promote reusable design systems and component-based UI frameworks.
• Present UX strategies and design recommendations to business stakeholders and technical leadership.
• Ensure consistency, usability and accessibility across enterprise applications.

Solution Consulting & Technical Collaboration

• Act as a trusted advisor on UX transformation and front-end modernisation initiatives.
• Recommend suitable UI architecture and front-end development approaches.
• Participate in customer workshops, solution estimation and technical discussions.
• Collaborate with architects to define integration approaches between Pega and external applications.
• Mentor development and UX teams on modern front-end engineering practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and the adoption of front-end development best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience

We are looking for candidates with the following experience:

Pega Development

• Minimum 5 years of experience working on Pega implementation projects.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Pega Constellation and DX API.
• Strong experience developing user interfaces within Pega Case Management applications.
• Experience integrating custom front-end applications with Pega through DX APIs.
• Knowledge of Pega low-code development and Case Management concepts.
• Experience designing Pega applications incorporating microservices, custom front ends and databases.

Front-end Development

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on ReactJS development experience.
• Strong JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3 skills.
• Experience developing reusable components and modern front-end frameworks.
• Experience building headless applications and integrating them with back-end systems.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and enterprise application integration.
• Experience creating responsive, accessible and user-friendly interfaces.

UX & Solution Design

• Experience with UX discovery, user journeys, wireframing and prototyping.
• Understanding of design systems, accessibility standards and UI architecture.
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical front-end solutions.
• Strong collaboration skills with business stakeholders, UX designers and technical teams.

Additional Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of overall IT experience, ideally 10–12 years or more.
• Professional Dutch speaking and writing proficiency, minimum B2 level.
• Good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid arrangement in Amsterdam.

Desirable Skills

The following would be advantageous:

• Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) certification.
• Experience developing geo-applications, including OpenLayers and map servers.
• Experience with complex enterprise workflow and Case Management solutions.
• Experience supporting UX modernisation programmes.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and design governance.
• Experience mentoring front-end developers or UX teams.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
