About Vega

The $250B insurance claims industry runs on fax machines, phone tag, and adjusters buried in paperwork. Cycle times stretch for months. Data is locked in legacy systems. And the workforce is aging out faster than it's being replaced.

Vega is the premier AI-native Claims Third Party Administrator built to reimagine that entire stack from the ground up. Our team is equal parts experienced insurance operators and modern technologists. We care deeply about delivering superior outcomes for our clients, and we want builders that get their hands dirty shipping solutions that move the needle.

Our results: 10x YoY revenue growth, and on track for $XXM run-rate in under 2 years. Backed by marquee VCs like General Catalyst, Lightspeed, and Valor.

About the role

We're looking for a Senior People Partner to partner with our Head of Claims and his leadership team as we scale the organization. You'll help leaders navigate performance, employee relations, retention, and organizational design while building stronger management capabilities and planning for future growth.

Working closely with Claims leadership and our Founding Talent Lead, you'll turn business needs into practical people strategies, balancing hands-on execution with forward-looking planning to build a high-performing, scalable organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with the Head of Claims and his leadership team to address people challenges and improve organizational effectiveness

  • Own employee relations, including employee concerns, investigations, accommodations, and sensitive workplace matters

  • Coach managers through performance management, feedback, conflict resolution, and difficult employment decisions

  • Develop management capabilities across leadership, accountability, employee development, and team effectiveness

  • Advise on organizational design, workforce planning, management capacity, and spans of control as the Claims organization scales

  • Analyze attrition and engagement trends to identify risks and improve retention

  • Partner with the Founding Talent Lead on performance cycles, talent reviews, career frameworks, and leveling

  • Use workforce data and employee feedback to inform recommendations and leadership decisions

  • Support compliance across employment matters, leave, accommodations, and documentation

  • Partner across Talent and People Operations to build scalable people practices and employee experiences

What You'll Bring:

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including meaningful time as an HR/People Partner in a high-growth environment

  • Bachelor’s degree; SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification or an Industrial-Organizational Psychology background is a plus

  • Demonstrated experience and ownership of employee relations, investigations, and performance management, not just a supporting role

  • A strong operator and advisor who's comfortable in ambiguity, can challenge thinking, and translates business needs into practical solutions

  • Experience coaching managers and developing leadership capabilities

  • Experience with organizational design, workforce planning, or scaling teams

  • Thorough knowledge of HR principles, compliance and leave & accommodation law (wage and hour, FMLA, ADA interactive process, state paid family leave)

  • Ability to use people data to identify trends and inform decisions

  • Exposure to job architecture, leveling, or comp frameworks, or real interest in building that out

  • Excellent communication, judgment, discretion, and relationship-building skills

  • A hands-on mindset, with the ability to build and execute scalable processes

Benefits

  • Competitive Salary

  • Equity - giving you direct stake in the future of an AI-native industry leader.

  • Top-tier medical, dental, and vision insurance.

  • 401k with company match.

  • Flexible PTO and a work from home stipend.

  • A fast-paced, high-talent density team that values transparency and shipping fast.
