Show job description

In less than a decade, ManoMano has become a key player in the home improvement and renovation sector.

Launched in 2013, ManoMano is the reference online marketplace for DIY, home improvement and gardening. Co-founded by Philippe de Chanville and Christian Raisson, ManoMano brings together the largest offer of DIY & gardening online products: electricity, plumbing, hardware, frames, indoor and outdoor furniture, tools, etc. With more than 5 000 seller partners and 11 million products, ManoMano currently employs 500 people and operates in 6 markets (France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom).

Motivated by the prospect of improving the living environment of their customers and convinced of the importance of the home market for sustainable consumption habits, the ManoMano teams want to help write a new page in their industry, which is struggling to reform itself. ManoMano brings to a highly technical world the power of its sector expertise, combined with that of data and digital in all its dimensions, to offer our customers easy access to innovative advice, products and services 100% online.

The ambition of the Founders and, above all, of Manas & Manos? To accompany this sector transformation with a strong culture of boldness, in an ingenious and frugal organization that places people and teams at the heart of the company's development.

CONTEXT

Within the Finance team, the Senior Performance FP&A acts as the financial compass, efficiency driver, and strategic sparring partner for ManoMano’s executive leadership and commercial engines.

This is a high-visibility role reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), with regular exposure to our CEO and the broader Executive Committee. Operating at the core of our business model, you will partner closely with our Marketing and Commercial leadership to scrutinize performance, optimize unit economics, maximize the return on marketing investments, and ensure financial discipline translates into bottom-line profitability.

MISSIONS

Your primary mission is to steer business performance with operational precision, act as a demanding co-pilot for our commercial leaders, and uncover concrete levers to accelerate profitable growth.

1. Business Partnering: Marketing & Commerce
  • Strategic Sparring Partner: Partner on a day-to-day basis with the VP Marketing and VP Commercial. You act as an assertive advisor, helping them model new initiatives while challenging assumptions, trajectories, and commercial investments.

  • Marketing Efficiency & ROI Optimization: Dissect marketing investments (acquisition, brand, promotions, media spend) to ensure optimal return on investment, evaluating customer acquisition costs (CAC) and customer lifetime value (LTV) dynamics.

  • Commercial & Margin Steering: Monitor revenue drivers, take rates, seller performance, and product mix. You provide actionable recommendations to defend and grow gross margin across all European markets.

  • Business Case Modeling: Build robust financial scenarios for commercial negotiations, promotional events (e.g., Black Friday, Sales), and strategic growth bets.

2. Group Performance Steering & Executive Reporting
  • Executive & Investor Reporting: Produce consolidated monthly performance reports (P&L, unit economics, key operational metrics) for the CFO, CEO, Board, and Investors, delivering incisive variance analyses with clear business narratives.

  • Line-by-Line P&L Scrutiny: Conduct rigorous, granular audits into cost drivers and operational lines to uncover immediate efficiency gains and reinforce a culture of frugality.

  • Accounting & Data Coherence: Partner with the Accounting team during monthly closes to ensure analytical consistency, accurate cost allocation, and absolute data integrity.

3. Tooling, Automation & AI Innovation
  • EPM & Reporting Contributor: Act as a key contributor to the daily use, optimization, and continuous improvement of our financial reporting architecture (currently built on Pigment), collaborating closely with the FP&A team's EPM owner.

  • Process Automation & AI: Explore, test, and implement automated workflows and generative AI solutions to eliminate repetitive tasks, improve data accessibility, and enhance the depth of financial analysis.

PROFILE & REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for a data-driven builder: someone with a solid analytical background in fast-scaling e-commerce environments, who excels at turning complex numbers into operational decisions and is ready to challenge senior stakeholders.

Must-Have Requirements:
  • Experience: 6 to 7+ years of progressive FP&A experience, with a proven in-house track record in pure player, e-commerce, or marketplace environments.

  • Assertive Business Partnering: Strong interpersonal impact and assertiveness. You know how to advise senior leaders, challenge established habits, and confidently say "no" to a VP when backed by solid data.

  • Surgical Analytical Rigor: Detail-oriented, data-driven, and rigorous. You know how to dissect unit economics, trace variances to their root cause, and identify hidden margin gains.

  • Tangible "Builder" Track Record: Proven history of identifying and executing concrete savings or revenue optimizations (pricing adjustments, margin protection, marketing spend reallocations with measurable P&L impact).

  • E-Commerce Acumen: Deep understanding of digital marketplace mechanics (conversion funnels, customer acquisition channels, seller economics, fulfillment impact).

  • Advanced Modeling: Expert-level proficiency in financial modeling in Excel / Google Sheets. Strong SQL skills are a definite plus.

  • Languages: Professional fluency in both French and English (written and spoken), capable of pitching complex business analyses to executive audiences.

Nice-to-Have:
  • EPM Familiarity: Prior experience using or navigating a modern EPM tool (such as Pigment, Anaplan, Adaptive, etc.) is a plus, though not a strict prerequisite.

  • AI & Automation Curiosity: Genuine interest in using AI tools to modernize financial workflows and analysis.

WHAT MANOMANO WILL BRING YOU
  • A high-exposure role reporting directly to the CFO, with direct interactions with the CEO

  • A central seat at the table to steer our core business engines (Marketing & Commerce)

  • An agile environment where your financial models directly influence operational decisions

  • A culture built on boldness, ownership, and continuous learning across 6 European markets

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

  • Step 1: Initial interview with Justine Bourgeon, Talent Acquisition Manager

  • Step 2: Technical interview with Andrea, FP&A Team

  • Step 3: Executive interview with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

  • Step 4: Interview with key cross-functional stakeholders (Marketing / Commercial)

  • Step 5: Final interview with Loïc Derrien, CEO
