We’re looking for a full-time, senior performance engineer who will make sure every interaction with our platform feels instant, reliable, and effortless. In this role, you’ll shape how both our applications and infrastructure scale, uncover what slows them down, and build the foundation that lets us deliver a seamless experience to every user as our customer base grows. About the role We're looking for an experienced Performance Engineer to make sure our systems are fast, reliable, and built to scale. You’ll design and run performance tests, pinpoint bottlenecks, and collaborate with product and engineering to optimize how our applications behave under real-world conditions. This is a hands-on role where your work directly impacts customer experience and our ability to grow. As a Performance Engineer at Blaze, you’ll ensure our products feel fast and seamless for every user, building the systems and practices that let us scale without sacrificing experience. Specifically you'll: Design and execute performance, load, stress, and scalability tests across our systems and applications Monitor system performance in staging and production environments, using metrics to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement Partner with engineers to debug performance issues and implement fixes at the application, database, and infrastructure levels Establish best practices for performance testing, monitoring, and tuning across the engineering org About you At Blaze, how we work is as important as what we build. Experiences that set you apart: 4+ years of experience in performance engineering, SRE, or a related role Experience analyzing system and application metrics using APM and observability tools (Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.) Solid understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and databases Strong debugging and problem-solving skills — comfortable diving into code, logs, and system metrics to track down issues Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating performance testing into release processes A builder’s mindset — you like to experiment, move quickly, and improve things without waiting for red tape Skills that make you extraordinary: Deeply committed to crafting high-quality, “wow”-worthy user experiences.
