Position: Senior Murex Developer Location: Lisbon (Hybrid) Job Summary We're looking for a Senior Murex Developer to join a high-performing Regulatory IT team responsible for enhancing, maintaining and optimizing one of the financial industry's leading trading and risk management platforms. This role combines technical expertise, financial systems knowledge and collaborative problem-solving. You'll work on both project initiatives and ongoing application evolution, contributing to critical regulatory and business-driven developments within a complex capital markets environment. You'll be involved throughout the delivery lifecycle, from requirements analysis and development to testing, deployment and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain solutions within the Murex platform; Deliver corrective, adaptive and evolutionary maintenance for existing applications; Participate in project initiatives related to regulatory and business requirements; Collaborate closely with business analysts, developers and functional teams in Agile delivery environments; Develop, optimize and support data integration processes across trading and regulatory systems; Ensure high-quality deliveries through rigorous testing and validation practices; Contribute to the automation of testing and operational processes; Analyze and troubleshoot application incidents and functional issues; Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and continuous improvement initiatives; Create and maintain technical documentation and development standards; Share knowledge and best practices across the team. Requirements 9+ years of experience in software development roles; Strong hands-on experience with the Murex platform; Experience working with Murex Datamart, MSL and Exchange modules; Strong SQL expertise, preferably Oracle SQL and PL/SQL; Knowledge of scripting languages, particularly Shell scripting; Experience working with XML technologies including XSLT, XML and HTML; Familiarity with SOAP-based integrations and web services; Development experience with Python; Experience using Git and modern source control practices; Strong understanding of software development principles and application lifecycle management; Experience working within Agile environments such as Scrum or Kanban; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Excellent communication and collaboration abilities; Professional proficiency in English. Technical Environment You'll likely work with technologies such as: Murex Murex Datamart MSL Exchange MXML Oracle Database SQL & PL/SQL Shell Scripting Python XML / XSLT / HTML SOAP Services Git Agile Delivery Frameworks Nice to Have Previous experience within capital markets, investment banking or financial services; Knowledge of regulatory reporting and regulatory IT environments; Exposure to financial products including Fixed Income, FX, Equities or Derivatives; Experience with CI/CD practices and development automation; Familiarity with testing frameworks and test automation approaches; Understanding of risk management and trading workflows; French language skills.
