Senior Platform Engineer Overview A rapidly growing payment services provider is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to play a key role in maintaining and enhancing a high-availability, cloud-native infrastructure that supports millions of transactions annually. This position requires deep expertise in designing scalable and secure platforms, automation, and observability solutions. Key Responsibilities Platform Reliability & Scalability Ensure platform stability and achieve high availability (99.999%) for critical payment processing systems. Design and implement resilient infrastructure to support high transaction volumes. Develop scalable solutions that enable system growth while maintaining performance and security. Technical Leadership & Incident Management Lead incident response for high-priority platform issues, ensuring rapid resolution. Conduct post-incident analysis and implement proactive measures to prevent future outages. Drive best practices in monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Infrastructure Automation & Cloud Optimization Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to automate deployments and system management. Enhance self-healing capabilities and automate repetitive operational tasks. Optimize cloud resources to balance cost efficiency and performance. Observability & Monitoring Design and implement real-time monitoring solutions using modern observability platforms. Develop proactive alerting systems to detect and address issues before they impact users. Continuously improve logging, tracing, and performance analysis across cloud and hybrid environments. Architecture & Strategic Planning Collaborate with stakeholders to define the future architecture of the platform. Ensure security, compliance, and best practices are integrated into all infrastructure solutions. Drive innovation by researching and adopting cutting-edge technologies. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or related roles. Strong expertise in Azure Cloud Services , including designing fault-tolerant and scalable systems. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for containerized application orchestration. Deep understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems. Advanced knowledge of observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack). Experience optimizing cloud environments for cost efficiency and performance. Strong troubleshooting skills, including root cause analysis and problem resolution. Preferred Qualifications Experience in financial services or payment processing environments. Knowledge of security best practices for handling sensitive financial data. Proficiency in scripting and automation tools for DevOps and cloud operations. Ability to work effectively in a global, distributed team across different time zones. Why Join Us?
