Senior Platform Engineer – Azure

We would like to meet a Senior Platform Engineer – Azure for a project with a remote working model.

What You’ll Do:

• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, developers, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time.
• Design, implement, and continuously evolve Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks using Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible, and scripting.
• Build reusable Terraform modules, automation, and golden paths that enable development teams to provision and consume infrastructure through self-service.
• Continuously improve our infrastructure platform by reducing manual processes, operational toil, and technical debt.
• Design and improve CI/CD pipelines supporting infrastructure and application delivery.
• Manage and evolve our Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Contribute to the management and evolution of our Kubernetes / AKS environment as part of the wider platform.
• Design and implement new platform capabilities that improve reliability, scalability, quality, and developer experience.
• Promote Cloud Native, DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure as Code, and GitOps best practices across teams.
• Support FinOps principles and continuously identify opportunities for cloud and infrastructure cost optimisation.
• Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve complex infrastructure and platform incidents, ensuring root causes are identified and recurrence is prevented.
• Establish and promote code review, testing, validation, and quality practices for infrastructure and automation code.
• Help build a culture where infrastructure and operational processes are managed through version-controlled code rather than manual provisioning and administration.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform, including reusable modules, state management, and infrastructure automation.
• Experience designing reusable infrastructure, automation, and platform capabilities, with a strong focus on standardisation and self-service.
• Knowledge of configuration management and automation tools, preferably Ansible.
• Strong practical knowledge of GitLab and GitLab CI/CD, including pipeline development and automation.
• Professional experience with public cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Good knowledge of Kubernetes and containerisation.
• Familiarity with GitOps methodologies, preferably Argo CD.
• Ability to develop automation using Python, Bash, or similar scripting/programming languages.
• Good understanding of DevOps, Cloud Native, and SRE principles.
• Experience with code repositories, code reviews, automated testing, and software engineering best practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, combined with a proactive and autonomous mindset.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.

Nice to Have:

• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes / AKS and the wider CNCF ecosystem.
• Experience with observability, including monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing.
• Familiarity with developer self-service and automation, particularly using Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, and JSM.
• Good knowledge of Linux administration and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of FinOps and cloud cost optimisation.
• Experience with internal developer platforms and developer tooling.
• Exposure to Agile ways of working, particularly Kanban.
• Relevant certifications in Terraform, Azure, Kubernetes, or related technologies.
• A strong curiosity and motivation to learn new technologies and continuously improve processes.
• Excellent autonomy, critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
