This position is responsible for the design, development, and support of applications in available hybrid cloud environments. The role involves implementing stable, cloud-native applications and automating DevOps processes for provisioning, deployment, and monitoring activities in PaaS/IaaS environments.
This specific role will serve as the senior technical authority for the Microsoft 365 platform, responsible for architecture, engineering, security, governance, automation, and strategic direction. The position designs and oversees scalable, secure, and supportable solutions, provides expert leadership for platform modernization and adoption, and serves as the highest level of technical escalation. The role ensures the Microsoft 365 environment is aligned with business objectives and can be effectively operated and supported by internal teams and managed service providers.
Job Description:
Project Requirements and Design Gaps: Translate project requirements from architecture/environment diagrams. Identify and remediate design gaps. Review and transform security solutions into cloud infrastructure designs.
Strategic Relations and Technology Influence: Establish relationships with key technology vendors. Establish relationships with key technology vendors. Influence future product releases. Design self-healing and fault-tolerant cloud services using best practices.
Cloud Security and Automation: Design self-healing and fault-tolerant cloud services using best practices. Develop and automate security tools for vulnerability mitigation and remediation
Documentation and Application Guidance: Develop cloud computing templates and guidelines. Document application design guidelines and integrate cloud resources.
Application and Infrastructure Management: Design, develop, implement, and support cloud-native and hybrid cloud environments.
Design, develop, implement, and support cloud-native and hybrid cloud environments. Monitor and remediate security vulnerabilities. Lead Infrastructure as Code projects and mentor junior engineers.
The posting range for this position is:
143,300.00 - 207,800.00
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Preferred Master's Degree or equivalent experience
Experience
- Required 7+ Years software development in web, web service, API architectures, and cloud
- Microsoft 365 engineering experience, including enterprise-scale environments supporting 5,000+ users, and a proven track record leading cloud migration and modernization initiatives such as tenant-to-tenant migrations, hybrid-to-cloud transformations, and large-scale platform modernization
- Experience defining architecture standards, governance, roadmaps, tenant configuration, and lifecycle management.
- Experience designing and implementing security controls, compliance solutions, automation, integrations, monitoring, and operational reporting.
- Experience owning platform operations, service standards, vendor oversight, and serving as an escalation point for complex technology platform issues.
- Experience with Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Powershell or other automation environments and scripting technologies.
- Experience with IaC frameworks such as Terraform, AWS Cloudformation, or AWS CDK, and/or Bicep.
- Experience moving workloads from on premise to IaaS (Openstack, AWS, Rackspace, Azure, Druva etc.)
- Experience with network technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tool
Knowledge Skills and Abilities

- Ability to problem solver with proven track record of refactoring legacy monoliths to cloud native
- Business minded SE leader with track record of delivering business value through technology. Partners with product managers to translate business needs into technical roadmaps
- Practical scripting and programming skills preferred
- Working knowledge and participation in Agile/Scrum & Kanban preferred
- Expert developer with passion for creating high-volume, low-latency, and cloud-native 12-factor applications in AWS/Azure
- Knowledge Containerization such as Docker and/or Kubernetes.
- Advanced working knowledge of the technical aspects of:
- Application protocols, such as HTTP(S), SMTP, SSL, and DNS
- Common applications of cryptography, such as X.509 PKI, PGP, etc.
- Knowledge of Active Directory
- Security event and log management
- Identity and access management
- Encryption in the cloud
- Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
- Ability to effectively communicate (written & verbal)
- Ability to problem solve
- Advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Preferred: Demonstrates AI literacy and an understanding of generative AI tools, including appropriate business applications and limitations.
Certifications & Licenses
- Required: Cloud Practitioner - Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Required: JAVA Certification - Oracle

This job is also eligible for annual bonusincentivepay.
