(Senior) Portfolio Analytics Expert
HdiYour Tasks
- Drive portfolio steering activities across the casualty lines in close collaboration with underwriting, pricing, reserving, claims, controlling, and other key stakeholder functions in the HDI Global SE segment
- Develop new analytical and AI-assisted methods for portfolio steering purposes
- Analyse large and complex datasets using Python, R, and/or SQL to identify growth opportunities, detect adverse trends, and derive actionable portfolio steering recommendations
- Support underwriting and Technical & Strategic Services teams through portfolio deep dives, analytical use cases, and data-driven insights that enable informed decision-making
- Develop reproductible analytical tools, models, and dashboards using Python, R, SQL and/or Power BI to increase transparency on portfolio performance, opportunities, and risks, and support lead underwriting strategies worldwide
- Support the development of a SQL cloud database by integrating diverse data sources into a structured and scalable data environment
- Contribute to cross-functional and strategic initiatives that advance portfolio steering capabilities
Your Profile
- Degree (Bachelor’s and Master’s) in Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related field
- Several years of experience in the insurance industry, ideally within underwriting, actuarial, or portfolio steering of industrial casualty business
- Proficiency in presentations & visualization tools, including Microsoft Office, SQL, and Power BI
- Programming skills, preferably in Python, are required; experience with R Shiny is an advantage
- Strong analytical and solution-oriented mindset, with a solid understanding of statistics and the ability to derive actionable insights from large and complex datasets
- High level of ownership and initiative, combined with a proactive, consultative approach and strong stakeholder management skills
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively in an international and cross-functional environment
- Fluent in English; German language skills, or a willingness to learn German, are highly desirable
