Job Description Senior Power BI Developer Remote Contract 3 Months 8 years experience, 6+ years of relevant experience Description The Senior Power BI Developer with Databricks will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-grade Power BI datasets, reports, and dashboards using Databricks as the primary data transformation and orchestration layer. This role plays a key part in enabling governed self-service analytics and operational reporting across Greystar. Key Responsibilities • Design and develop Power BI semantic models to support scalable and reusable reporting. • Build and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards, including migration of existing Excel-based models. • Develop advanced DAX measures and calculations and optimize datasets for performance and scalability. • Work closely with Data Engineering teams leveraging Databricks for data preparation and transformations using SQL and Python. • Implement and optimize DirectQuery, Direct Lake, and Databricks connectors as appropriate. • Publish, manage, and secure content in Power BI Service, including workspace management and app deployments. • Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and align with enterprise governance standards. • Monitor dataset refreshes, usage metrics, and report performance. • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality analytics solutions. • Support documentation, knowledge transfer, and reporting best practices. Required Skills & Experience • 6+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, or Data Modeling. • Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. • Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), and semantic modeling. • Strong SQL skills with experience integrating Power BI with Databricks. • Experience with DirectQuery / Direct Lake and large datasets. • Experience with Power BI governance, including RLS, workspace management, and deployment practices. • Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams. Preferred Experience • Experience supporting enterprise-scale, governed self-service analytics environments.
