Overview
We deliver measurable value to clients across Defence, Central Government and the private sector, helping organisations deliver complex projects, programmes and change. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for experienced P3M professionals to lead delivery for our clients while helping to shape and develop our P3M capability across i3Works.
The work will be varied and challenging, giving you the opportunity to influence key decisions and deliver meaningful outcomes for both our clients and i3Works. In this outward-facing role, you will lead and influence senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams, applying your P3M expertise to complex delivery challenges. As a senior member of our consulting team, you will combine strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and collaborative working to build trusted relationships and deliver lasting value.
Role Purpose
As a Senior or Principal P3M Consultant, you will provide expert advice and delivery support to help our clients solve complex challenges and achieve successful outcomes. You will act as a trusted advisor while contributing to the growth of i3Works through client development, new opportunities and the continued development of our P3M capability.
Delivery
Lead the delivery of complex client projects and programmes, ensuring outcomes are achieved to agreed time, cost, quality and scope.
Work collaboratively with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to establish clear objectives, priorities and delivery approaches.
Apply P3M expertise and professional judgement to identify challenges, manage risk and provide practical, outcome-focused solutions.
Establish and maintain effective governance, reporting and controls, providing clients with clear insight into delivery performance and supporting informed decision-making.
Provide P3M leadership, guidance and assurance to clients and delivery teams, ensuring delivery achieves measurable and sustainable value.
Client Relationships and Business Development
Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor by understanding client priorities, challenges and evolving needs.
Represent and promote i3Works’ capabilities across client engagements, helping to strengthen existing relationships and develop new opportunities.
Support business growth through opportunity development and by contributing to bids and proposals.
Capability and People Development
Contribute to the continued development of i3Works’ P3M capability, sharing knowledge, good practice and lessons learned across the business.
Lead and contribute to internal initiatives that improve how we work and enhance the value we deliver to our clients.
Support the development of colleagues through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Take an active role in your own professional development, supported by i3Works through relevant qualifications, training and development opportunities.
Experience and Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
Significant P3M delivery experience within Defence, Central Government or another complex environment.
Strong knowledge and practical application of P3M principles.
The ability to operate effectively in complex client environments, using sound judgement to solve problems and support effective decision-making.
A relevant professional qualification or accreditation, such as APM PMQ/PPQ, PRINCE2, MSP, Agile certification or an equivalent P3M qualification.
Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
The ability to support and develop colleagues through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
At Principal Consultant level, we would expect greater experience in leading complex client engagements, developing senior client relationships, shaping opportunities and contributing to the growth and development of our P3M capability.
Desirable
Experience delivering within Defence organisations such as DE&S or National Armaments Digital & Data (formerly Defence Digital), or within Central Government departments such as the Home Office, HMRC or DEFRA.
Previous consultancy experience.
Experience contributing to business development, bids or proposals.
Candidates must be willing and eligible to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV). Existing security clearance is desirable but not essential.
Role Location
We operate a hybrid working model, combining home working and client sites in line with client requirements. Our consultants should be within a reasonable commuting distance of Bristol and able to work from client locations, which are typically within 50 miles of Bristol or along the M4/M5 corridor.
As our client portfolio continues to grow, flexibility to work from different client locations may occasionally be required.
