• An exciting opportunity to join Sydney Water’s Procurement Team
• Generous Salary + Additional Benefits
• Join our growing team to deliver essential services for a sustainable and prosperous water future

About the Role
Help shape the procurement outcomes behind Sydney Water’s essential operational technology as our Senior Procurement Specialist (Digital) with a primary focus on SCADA and IICATS. Bring your commercial expertise to a role where you can influence sourcing decisions, build supplier partnerships and deliver value for the services our communities rely on. Working closely with technical and business stakeholders, you will turn complex requirements into practical procurement strategies and lead commercial activities from planning through to contract award and ongoing supplier management. This is an opportunity to broaden your operational technology experience while delivering procurement outcomes that matter.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead procurement initiatives across SCADA and IICATS, sharing your expertise and supporting Procurement Specialists to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Partner with stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business objectives and improve commercial outcomes.
• Provide subject matter expertise in procurement, sourcing, and contract management processes.
• Apply category management principles to identify opportunities, manage risk, and drive value.
• Oversee sourcing activities from strategy development to contract award, ensuring governance and probity.
• Manage supply panels, supplier relationships and contract performance to realise value and support reliable service delivery.
• Support contract management for 24/7 support and maintenance services across both SCADA and IICATS, helping ensure reliable delivery of these essential services.
• Track and report on procurement benefits, value creation, and key performance indicators.
• Strong procurement and commercial skills are the priority. Some exposure to SCADA is desirable, but not essential; you do not need to be a technical specialist. NEC4 Project Manager accreditation
• Contract management experience within the infrastructure or construction industry is desirable.
About You
• Proven experience in procurement leadership roles, ideally within complex or regulated environments.
• Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Expertise in category management, sourcing, and contract management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive continuous improvement.
• Relevant qualifications in procurement or supply chain management (e.g. CIPS) are desirable.
• Experience in developing and implementing procurement strategies and advising at executive level.
• Skilled in reporting procurement outcomes to executive leadership and governance bodies
• 8+ years experience in procurement category management and/or business partnering in a large complex organisation, preferably in a similar organisation or industry sector
