Amphenol Industrial Operations
Reports To: Technical Director
Job Description Summary:
The Senior Product Compliance & Standards Engineer is responsible for leading and coordinating global technical standards and product compliance activities for Amphenol Industrial Operations (AIO). This role supports product development, R&D, sustaining engineering, qualification, and certification activities across AIO engineering and manufacturing locations worldwide.
The position works with global product teams early in the development process to identify applicable international, regional, and national requirements; establish product compliance and certification strategies; interpret standards and regional deviations; and align product designs and qualification plans for multiple markets. The role serves as a global technical resource for standards including, but not limited to, UL, IEC, ASTM, EIA, ISO, Open Compute Project (OCP), and SAE requirements.
The Senior Product Compliance & Standards Engineer works directly with UL and other certification bodies, test laboratories, global Product Development, R&D, Quality, Product Management, manufacturing, and customer-facing teams. The position coordinates global certification and testing programs, resolves differences in regional requirements, supports reuse of test evidence where permitted, and drives timely approvals for global product launches.
A key responsibility is representing AIO in international and regional standards committees, technical panels, task groups, industry consortiums, and working groups. The role monitors emerging requirements across global markets, provides technical input, and helps shape standards that affect current and future AIO technologies.
This global role supports all AIO product lines and markets, including data center, solar, energy storage, electric vehicle, heavy equipment, harsh environment, transportation, industrial, and other high-reliability applications. Regular collaboration across regions and time zones is required, along with domestic and international travel to standards meetings, certification events, conferences, laboratories, and AIO locations.
