We're putting together a talented team to build the #1 training platform for Runners
We help everyday runners become outstanding by building an incredible app providing world-class training, coaching and community for everyone, whether you're improving your 5k time or training for your first marathon.
We’re growing extremely fast! In November 2023 we closed a $6.5M funding round led by JamJar with participation from Eka Ventures, Venrex and Creator Ventures. In 2024, we were selected by Apple as one of three global finalists for the iPhone app of the year, reflecting the innovation and impact of what we’ve built & in 2025 we were acquired by Strava!
Our ambition is huge: to become the go-to global leading training platform for millions of runners everywhere. We’re growing with purpose and looking for people who want to build something meaningful with lasting impact. With the recent acquisition by Strava accelerating our journey, now is a really magical time to join. 🚀
The Team You'll Join
You’ll join our Product and Engineering organisation at an exciting time of growth. Product Design at Runna is still lean, giving you plenty of ownership and space to help shape how we work. We’re building a world-class team of ambitious and multidisciplinary designers who love creativity, craft and collaboration. With a close connection to our users, this is a great opportunity to work on a product loved by runners around the world. You’ll report to the Director of Product Design or a Senior Design Manager.
We follow a flexible hybrid model that translates to more than half of your time on-site – 3 days per week in Runna's office based in London, UK.
What You'll Do
We're looking for a designer to shape the human moments in a runner's journey with Runna - like the times life doesn't go to plan and training needs to adapt with it. You'll turn problems like a missed run, an injury, or a shifting goal into experiences that feel simple and reassuring. You’ll own a specific area day-to-day, with room to branch into new problem spaces as Runna's product expands.
Working with the whole team as well as our amazing customers to discover and prioritise user’s needs across their journey
Work with Product and Engineering to create solutions / customer journeys for complex design problems
Illustrate design ideas using user flows & prototypes in Figma and other tools
Conduct user testing sessions and incorporate feedback into your work
Collaborate with developers to handover designs and ensure great interaction
Continue to iterate and help develop our design system
Help shape team rituals, design processes and quality standards
Design with accessibility in mind and encourage inclusive thinking in the team
What You'll Bring to the Team
Experience as a UX / Product Designer including experience with mobile design
A design generalist with solid UX, interaction, and visual craft, who may also bring a specialism; typography, systems thinking, or high-level data-informed design, for example
Love speaking to users to understand needs, in order to solve problems as effectively as possible
Partnering with product and growth to leverage quantitative data to solve problems
Attention to small details that take designs to the next level (e.g. perfect pixel alignment, interaction, animations)
Solid Figma & prototyping skills, and you've thought about where AI tools fit into your design process, even in small ways
Confident working with a cross-functional team in a fast-paced, iterative environment
Confident facilitating and participating in workshops and discussions to promote the communication of ideas
Bonus Points If You Have:
Experience with consumer/start-up/mobile apps before
Experience working with React Native teams
Experience designing for wearable devices
