Senior Product Manager Hot Job Fully Remote • AOEU HQ - Osage, IA 50461 Apply Apply Description Who You Are You're a product leader who owns an entire product area (outcomes, priorities, strategic direction, and the hard tradeoffs between competing bets), and you’re able to hold it all as one coherent whole rather than a stack of disconnected features. You translate where the company is going into where the product is going, and you can tell the difference between a roadmap that looks impressive and one that genuinely moves the needle for educators. When the path is ambiguous, you're the one who creates clarity. You're energized by AOE's mission to grow amazing teachers, and you never lose sight of the classroom on the other end of a product decision. You do your best work in a fully remote environment built on clarity, evidence, and earned trust. You lead through influence and product judgment (not consensus or headcount) by staying hands-on with engineers, designers, and fellow PMs to define the work, while keeping every workstream laddering up to a cohesive direction. What You’ll Do As our Senior Product Manager , you'll own a full product area end-to-end and be the single accountable owner for its outcomes. You'll align product-area strategy to our broader company priorities, keep the whole area coherent, and partner across squads to deliver measurable value to art educators. You'll drive product direction in partnership with the Product team while staying close enough to the work to define it. Every day will look a little different, but in general, you'll: Own Your Product-Area: You'll be the single, accountable owner for outcomes across your area, defining success metrics such as engagement, retention, and learning impact, and influencing prioritization calls among competing opportunities. Set Product-Area Strategy: You'll translate company strategy into a clear product-area strategy, priorities, and success measures, and ensure scoped workstreams ladder up to a single coherent direction rather than drifting apart. Own Discovery Quality Across Your Area: You'll lead discovery directly through regular educator engagement, and you'll be accountable for the quality and consistency of discovery across every squad in your area, never delegating it away. Resolve the Hard Tradeoffs: You'll make and defend the calls across related problem spaces, user needs, and investments, resolving cross-scope conflicts and escalating only genuine portfolio-level tradeoffs to Product leadership. Be Hands-On With the Work: You'll define product-area Epics and work directly with engineering to break them into coherent, incremental slices, and write and refine User Stories with clear acceptance criteria, edge cases, and learning-quality requirements. Align the Around the Product: You'll bring stakeholders across the org onto the same priorities and direction, and keep cross-functional alignment strong without drowning the work in coordination overhead. Drive Outcomes and Experimentation: You'll track performance against the outcomes you defined, use data and AI-assisted analysis to evaluate impact, and drive experimentation that compounds into better decisions over time. What You’ve Done Before You have a successful track record of at least 5 years of owning a product or product area with measurable outcomes (not just contributed to one), and you’re excited to share the direction you set and the results it drove. You bring strong discovery skills and genuine comfort with engaging users directly; you make and defend product decisions with evidence and judgment rather than consensus; and you've worked hands-on across design, engineering, and domain experts, such as curriculum. You're at your best operating in ambiguity and turning it into clarity, and you can hold the big-picture strategy and the epic-and-story-level detail at the same time, because in this role you'll do both. It’d Be Great If You’ve Done This If you've led a product area in education, ed-tech, or another mission-driven space where learning impact was the real measure of success, you'll fit right in. Experience setting strategy across multiple squads or workstreams, partnering closely with curriculum or subject-matter experts, using AI to sharpen discovery and decision-making, and building for both individual educators and institutional customers, such as schools and districts, will all move you toward the top of the list. And if the classroom on the other end of the roadmap is what motivates you, that's exactly the instinct we're looking for.
