Senior Product Manager* – Industrial IoT & Edge Hardware Portfolio

Location: Brussels (HQ) / Flexible Remote within Europe

Contract & Compensation: Permanent / Full-time

Reporting Line: Directly to Chief Executive Officer

Leadership: Direct management of 1 Technical PM (with clear growth path to Head of PM)

About my client Railnova: The Agility of a Tech Lab, The Power of a Global Leader

My client is transforming how heavy rail fleets operate and maintain their assets. For over 15 years, our self-developed IoT hardware devices (Railster family) and cloud software platforms (Railgenius & Railfleet) have moved the rail industry from reactive repairs to predictive, data-driven maintenance.

  • Proven Scale: Over 3,500 connected locomotives and passenger trains across 20+ countries, processing over 500 million signals daily for 190+ railway companies.
  • The Best of Both Worlds: We operate as a highly agile, profitable, fast-growing tech lab of ~35 experts in Brussels, backed by the global strength and market access of our parent company, Knorr-Bremse.
  • Our Culture: Independent engineering, asynchronous written communication, open doors, and a relentless focus on solving real operational problems over vanity dashboards.

The Mission: Shift to Structured Product Management

As Senior Product Manager – IoT Portfolio, you will own the commercial and strategic success of our flagship IoT hardware devices (Railster 2, 2U, Mini) and edge software framework.

Reporting directly to CEO, your core responsibility is to make sure what we build perfectly aligns with what the international market buys. You will serve as the Voice of the Customer internally and the Architect of Market Growth externally—bringing structure, methodologies, and evidence-based decision-making to our product roadmap.

What You Will Do

  1. Drive Market & Customer Intelligence (The "WHY" of our IoT framework)
  2. Conduct structured customer discovery, win/loss analyses, and site visits across Europe and global target markets to extract core "Jobs to be Done".
  3. Translate market insights into rigorous, prioritized product requirements for R&D; defining the WHY and WHAT without getting bogged down in low-level engineering execution.
  4. Build data-driven Market Inquiries, Quantified Business Cases & Pricing Strategies. Replace intuition with data-driven frameworks: analyze target segments, establish value-based pricing, and craft defensible ROI & Total-Cost-of-Ownership (TCO) models that enable rail Maintenance Directors and CFOs to justify their investment.
  5. Lead Go-To-Market & Sales Enablement of our team and partners. Equip our direct sales team, partner channels, and OEMs with high-impact sales assets, battlecards, demo narratives, and tender/RFP support.
  6. Own the strategic positioning and messaging for the Railster ecosystem.
  7. Represent Railnova at key international industry events (e.g., InnoTrans) and executive customer workshops.
  8. Team Leadership & Organisational Growth. You lead and mentor 1 Technical Product Manager and act as a respected Stakeholder Manager.
  9. Shape the future product management discipline at Railnova, with a clear trajectory to build out the team as Head of Product Management.

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of B2B Product Management / Product Marketing / PreSales experience in Industrial IoT, Connected Assets, Heavy Machinery SaaS, or Transport Technology.
  • Strong Technical Foundation: Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on background, enabling you to speak on equal terms with embedded systems developers and high-level client stakeholders.
  • Methodical & Data-Driven Approach: Proven ability to apply structured PM frameworks (market segment analysis, business modeling, structured prioritization).
  • Commercial & Communication Power: Ability to translate technical diagnostics into compelling value propositions for executive decision-makers.
  • Languages & Mobility: Professional fluency in English (office language). German and/or French fluency is a commercial advantage. Willingness to travel ~2–4 days/month across Europe.
  • Work Authorization: EU/Belgian work permit required.

What We Offer

  • High Autonomy & Impact: Direct line to the CEO with genuine freedom to shape product strategy without corporate red tape.
  • Attractive Package: Competitive fixed annual salary with flexible contract options (Belgian or German employment contract).
  • Benefits & Mobility: Company car / car allowance (Belgium) or BahnCard / mobility package (Germany/remote), 30+ days vacation, flexible working hours. Home-Office.
  • Hybrid/Remote Setup: Remote-friendly European setup with regular touchpoints at our Brussels headquarters where R&D, Sales, Management, and Manufacturing collaborate under one roof.
