Caseware is one of Canada's original Fintech companies, having led the global audit and accounting software industry for over 30 years, with more than 500,000 users across 130 countries and available in 16 different languages. While you might not have heard of us (yet) over 36,000 accounting and audit professionals list Caseware as a skill on their LinkedIn profiles.
As Senior Product Manager, North American Financial Reporting, you own the product strategy, roadmap, and success of Caseware's financial reporting solutions in the United States and Canada, including the statements, the disclosures behind them, and the reporting content that keeps both current.
You are the internal expert on financial reporting across both markets: what the frameworks require, what is changing, and where firms struggle.
❗This is a full-time, permanent position.
❗This is a new role.
📍 Location:
This is a hybrid role, requiring the successful candidate to work 3 days a week in our Toronto office located at 351 King Street East, Toronto, Ontario.
What you will be doing:
Strategy and roadmap
-
Own the product strategy for Caseware's North American financial reporting solutions, and keep it aligned with the overall product and company vision.
-
Define what should be built for North American financial reporting, for whom, and the opportunity it addresses.
-
Own the roadmap: what goes on it, in what sequence, and what each item needs to ship successfully.
-
Define the requirements, scope, and success measures for each item before work starts.
-
Work through the delivery teams to get roadmap items built.
-
Identify delivery risk against the roadmap and raise it early.
-
Contribute the business case for what enters the portfolio and what is retired, and the product input to build, buy, or partner decisions on capability gaps.
-
Report roadmap status and product performance to senior leadership.
-
Lean forward on agentic AI in the product suite. Set the go-forward direction for where agents sit in customer workflows
-
Utilize AI to inform strategy, define specifications, and rapidly prototype/validate ideas with customers
Market and customers
-
Know the frameworks: US GAAP, and Canadian frameworks including ASPE, ASNPO, and IFRS as adopted in Canada, along with the disclosure requirements that flow from them.
-
Interpret standards changes before they are effective and get them onto the roadmap in time.
-
Spend time with firms of every size in both markets, and bring what you learn back to the roadmap.
-
Represent the product with firm advisory groups, standard-setters, and industry bodies.
Quality and compliance
-
Treat standards compliance as a deliverable rather than an assumption.
-
Set the bar a financial reporting solution must meet before it ships.
Go-to-market and commercial
-
Work with go-to-market teams on positioning, launch, enablement, and the success of the solutions you own in market.
-
Provide the product view into pricing and packaging for those solutions.
What qualifications you'll bring:
-
A CPA (US or Canada) in good standing is strongly preferred. Equivalent depth in financial statement preparation and disclosure will be considered.
-
7+ years across financial reporting or public accounting experience
-
Working knowledge of US GAAP and at least one Canadian reporting framework, and the ability to read and interpret future standards.
-
Experience delivering through teams you do not manage.
-
Able to define requirements that engineering and content teams can build from.
-
Experience prioritizing and planning across competing demands, and surfacing risk early rather than late.
-
Able to set out priorities and the evidence behind them to a senior audience.
-
Experience working with sales, customer success, and marketing on go-to-market, adoption, and retention.
-
A lifelong learner, self-motivated to stay current with professional standards and changes in the accounting profession.
-
Results orientated — willing to roll up their sleeves and take initiative.
-
A self-starter who works effectively without daily supervision and communicates clearly with colleagues across
