Senior Product Manager - OTC Trading

Job Description

Location: London, UK (Hybrid: 3 days in office)

Employment type: Permanent, full time

So, who are we?

IG Group is a FTSE 100 fintech operating across five continents, serving over 1.4m customers and handling billions of dollars in transactions – built on scale, trust, and proof. We didn't pivot to innovation; it's how we've always operated. What that means for the people who work here is real: genuinely complex problems to solve, the technology and resources to tackle them properly, and the kind of scope that's rare in established businesses.

The bar is high – bring a curious and forward-thinking mindset and we'll give you the platform to define what comes next.

Join us at IG – the future gets built here.

Your Team:

This role sits within the Trading & Investments domain of the Product function, reporting into the Head of Product, Trading & Investments. The domain’s mission is to give every client the tools to trade, from first investment to multi-asset portfolio. You will use AI tools and work closely with engineering, design, dealing, compliance, legal, and marketing to define and deliver the OTC trading proposition and help expand it to other markets. The team operates at the intersection of product craft and commercial ambition, focused on building trading experiences that feel effortless for IG’s customers while keeping them safe, informed and in control.

Your role in the Team’s Success:

This is a role for a Senior PM who is as comfortable defining the strategy as they are shipping against it. As Senior Product Manager for OTC Trading, you will own the product vision and multi-quarter roadmap for IG’s leveraged derivatives offering: spread bets, CFDs, options and futures. You will determine which problems are worth solving, set direction, and drive execution end to end. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, navigate ambiguity, and make decisions that directly shape commercial outcomes. You will not be handed a brief. You will write it.

IG is moving towards a single, modern trading platform across its markets. This is a chance to shape what OTC trading looks like on that platform: rapid, reliable, secure and intuitive, for clients ranging from first-time derivatives traders to experienced professionals.

What you’ll do:

Product strategy and roadmap

  • Own the product vision and multi-quarter roadmap for OTC trading, aligned to IG’s commercial objectives. You will set that roadmap, not just contribute to it.
  • Determine which problems are worth solving and why, before any solution work begins.
  • Make strategic build vs buy vs partner decisions grounded in customer needs, commercial viability, and technical feasibility.
  • Drive competitive intelligence and translate market insights into differentiated propositions across spread betting, CFDs, options and futures.
  • Shape how the OTC proposition converges onto a single global platform, balancing local market needs with a consistent client experience.

Discovery and delivery

  • Run discovery that goes beyond what customers say. Understand the motivations, friction points, and habits that drive or block trading behaviour.
  • Use AI tools actively across your workflow: synthesising research, generating prototypes, accelerating delivery, and surfacing insights faster.
  • Partner with engineering and design to scope, prioritise, and ship with quality and pace.
  • Define success metrics and iterate relentlessly based on evidence.

Cross-functional leadership

  • Influence stakeholders across product, engineering, dealing, legal, compliance, marketing, and senior leadership. You drive alignment up, down, and across the organisation.
  • Work closely with Peer Product Managers leading the adjacent areas, as well as coordinate with teams across Core technology to help build scalable backend systems.
  • Navigate regulatory requirements (including product governance and Consumer Duty) and translate compliance constraints into seamless customer experiences, including how risk, margin and leverage are presented to clients.
  • Work comfortably with APIs, pricing and execution infrastructure, and platform integrations.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise and present pricing it in ways that helps customers and business.
  • Mentor and raise the bar for PMs around you.

What You'll Need:

  • Five or more years shipping consumer-facing products in trading platforms, investment platforms, neobanks, fintech, or adjacent consumer financial services.
  • Proven ability to own and drive product strategy. That means vision setting and direction, not just roadmap input.
  • Deep curiosity about trader and investor behaviour. You understand what makes people start trading, stop, switch, or stay.
  • AI-native working style: you already use AI tools (LLMs, prototyping tools, research synthesis, workflow automation) to move faster and think better.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity. You can define the problem when the brief doesn’t exist yet.
  • Obsession with customer experience. You sweat the details that make journeys feel effortless, including in complex, real-time trading interfaces.
  • Regulatory intuition. You can navigate compliance without it becoming a blocker to great UX, and you are comfortable working in a heavily regulated, risk-sensitive product area.
  • Evidence and data-driven. You define metrics, run experiments, and make calls based on what works.
  • Strong stakeholder management. You influence without authority and drive alignment across complex organisations.

Desirable

  • Direct experience with leveraged or derivative products (CFDs, spread betting, options, futures, FX) or active trading platforms.
  • Experience building or launching AI-powered features in a consumer product.
  • Worked on platform partnerships, broker integrations, or exchange infrastructure.
  • Built products that serve both novice investors and sophisticated traders.
  • Experience in fintech, financial services, or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Exposure to multi-market or multi-regulator product environments.

The perks

It really is more than a job. We think like a start-up, but we deliver like a FTSE 100 — so the bar is high, and we won't pretend otherwise. We work hybrid, which means three days in the office. We’ll recognise your talent and make sure that you can still have a life – at work, and outside of it. Networks, committees, awards, sports and social clubs, mentorships, volunteering opportunities, extra time off… the list goes on.

  • Competitive salary
  • Flexible Benefits Package on top of your salary (12%)
  • Private medical cover for you and your family
  • Life insurance
  • Contribution to gym memberships
  • 25 Days holiday, with 1 additional day off to celebrate your Birthday & 2 additional days off a year for voluntary work (28 in total)
  • The option to buy or sell holiday days
  • A comprehensive global and local onboarding process
  • Enhanced primary (maternity), secondary (paternity), and shared parental pay and leave, as well as a range of support and benefits for parents
