About MetaMask MetaMask is building a future where users can unlock the full product stack through a single, seamless identity experience, enabling access to all features with trust, safety, and minimal friction. Today, identity verification is fragmented across several product and onboarding experiences. Users are repeatedly asked to verify themselves across different services, creating unnecessary friction, inconsistent outcomes, and degraded trust. Universal KYC (UKYC) is a new initiative to solve this problem by creating a single, reusable identity layer across MetaMask. At the centre of this is MetaMask Passport , a product designed to enable users to verify once and unlock multiple experiences across the MetaMask ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of platform and product experience . You will define the primitives, standards, and user journeys that make identity verification seamless, privacy-conscious, and globally compliant. What you’ll do You will own the vision and roadmap for Universal KYC and MetaMask Passport, defining how a reusable identity layer unlocks the broader MetaMask product stack. You will build the underlying identity platform, creating scalable verification primitives and standards that can be adopted across products. In parallel, you will design a seamless, low-friction KYC experience that reduces time-to-first-transaction while maintaining compliance integrity. You will drive adoption across MetaMask by partnering closely with internal teams to integrate a consistent identity layer, while balancing privacy, trust, and global regulatory requirements. Throughout, you will lead execution end-to-end, aligning cross-functional teams and delivering measurable outcomes. What we are looking for: Proven experience building or scaling identity verification (IDV), KYC, or onboarding products Strong background in fintech , ideally with exposure to Web3 Hands-on experience working with identity verification providers (IDV vendors) such as Sumsub, Veriff, Onfido, Persona, or Stripe Identity Familiarity with compliance workflows , including KYC, KYB, and customer due diligence (CDD) processes Track record of delivering platform products adopted across multiple teams Ability to operate across both technical systems and user experience What Success looks like: Increased KYC completion rates and reduced onboarding friction Reduced time-to-first-transaction across KYC-gated flows Increased reuse of verified identity across products Improved transaction success rate through consistent verification outcomes Strong user trust with minimal friction and compliant execution Attributes that will make you stand out First-principles thinker with strong product judgment Deep user empathy with a focus on reducing friction and cognitive load Strong understanding of trust, privacy, and compliance trade-offs Clear, structured communicator who drives alignment and momentum High ownership and ability to operate in ambiguity Why This Role Matters Universal KYC is a foundational unlock for MetaMask, enabling users to move from fragmented, repetitive identity verification to a seamless, reusable experience across the entire product stack.
