Summary:

The Senior Product Marketing Manager supports product strategy execution and go-to-market (GTM) readiness by translating market insights, customer needs, and product inputs into clear, consistent messaging and tools. This role partners closely with Product, GTM teams, and Sales to support market-informed product positioning, roadmap communication, and launch readiness across assigned products or initiatives.

What you'll do here:

  • Shape product strategy and roadmap priorities by bringing market, customer-focused, and field insights into product discovery, opportunity validation, and ongoing roadmap development in close partnership with Product Management.
  • Build deep market and customer understanding through structured voice-of-customer and voice-of-field programs, competitive analysis, and market research—translating insights into clear recommendations for product and go-to-market decisions.
  • Develop compelling product positioning and messaging that clearly articulates the customer problem, differentiated value, and “why should anyone care?” for key audiences, including buyers, users, and influencers.
  • Lead go-to-market strategy and launch readiness for new products and capabilities, coordinating messaging, market-facing collateral, enablement, timelines, and cross-functional execution across Product, Marketing, and Sales.
  • Equip Sales to communicate product value effectively by partnering with Sales Enablement to develop and maintain product messaging, demos, one-pagers, knowledge-transfer materials, and other tools that support customer conversations and prospecting.
  • Ensure consistent, accurate product storytelling across the customer journey, maintaining product messaging across web, marketing channels, events, webinars, and other customer-facing touch points.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to strengthen product and industry visibility, including relevant awards, certifications, sponsorships, trade shows, Cengage-hosted events, and webinars aligned to product priorities and lifecycles.

Skills you will need here:

  • 5+ years of related product marketing experience or comparable hands-on experience.
  • Solid understanding and working knowledge of positioning, segmentation, messaging, product discovery, go-to-market strategy, launch readiness, and enablement.
  • Ability to analyze market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer or field feedback and translate insights into actionable, clear product priorities, customer messaging, and enablement materials.
  • Effective cross‑functional collaboration with strong day‑to‑day autonomy, proactively solving issues and raising bigger risks or roadblocks that need broader alignment.
  • Consistent track record of influencing decision-making and direction across multiple cross-functional teams through insights and partnership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop concise, audience-appropriate product messaging and sales tools.
  • Experience developing or supporting sales enablement assets such as one-pagers, knowledge transfer documents, and product or sales demos,
  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort working cross-functionally with Product, Sales, and Marketing partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a similar field.
