About the Role
As a Product Owner within our International Business, you will be the driving force behind a focused product backlog or value stream, championing the voice of the customer while balancing strategic priorities, technical realities, and business value. You will collaborate closely with squads, stakeholders, and Product Area Leads to deliver innovative, data-driven solutions that make a real difference. This is a role for someone who is passionate about building great products, energised by collaboration, and motivated by outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Set and communicate a clear product vision that directs, informs, and prioritises the order of work to maximise value within the constraints of resources, strategy, and compliance

Incubate and commercialise innovative, disruptive solutions using an entrepreneurial mindset, leveraging data and validation techniques including demos, usability testing, and A/B testing to prove hypotheses

Co-create, prioritise, and communicate product roadmaps and high-level squad backlogs using iterative techniques with continuous feedback loops

Bring transparency to the backlog and align squad members with all relevant stakeholders to ensure shared understanding and direction

Communicate financial forecasts through business case creation, identifying market segmentation and articulating a clear value proposition

Balance and manage technical debt in line with customer value work, delivering on the squad mission and objectives with shared accountability with the Product Area Lead

Champion the voice of the customer, ensuring it remains at the heart of all squad activities and decision-making

Foster cross-squad cooperation, manage interdependencies, remove impediments, and create an environment where people can excel

Support on-budget delivery with clear scope, defined timelines, and well-articulated acceptance criteria

Develop products or services within an existing defined business model, supporting Product Area Leads and contributing to a strong product domain

Help create and track data for KPIs that inform business strategy and guide future product changes and improvements in collaboration with internal experts

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role, with a strong track record of managing and prioritising product backlogs within an agile environment

Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with hands-on experience using validation techniques such as A/B testing, usability testing, and demos to inform product decisions

Experience in business case development, including financial forecasting, market segmentation analysis, and value proposition definition

Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships across multiple levels, with strong communication and alignment skills

Solid understanding of agile methodologies and experience working within squad-based or scaled agile delivery models
These are additional nice to haves:

Experience working within the insurance, reinsurance, or financial services industry

Familiarity with product management tools such as ADO, Confluence, or similar platforms

Experience supporting or collaborating with Product Area Leads in a scaled agile environment

Knowledge of KPI development and performance measurement frameworks

An entrepreneurial mindset with experience incubating or commercialising new products or services

Strong facilitation and workshop skills, with the ability to co-create roadmaps and drive alignment across diverse teams

Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between 3 300 EUR and 5 400 EUR per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.
