(Senior) Product Owner - Platform Engineering (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Product Owner who takes product areas on our B2B platform from the first problem to what thousands of SMEs end up using. Perseus is a Berlin cybersecurity company of around 35 people. We help insurers and their SME customers manage cyber risk, today in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Spain, and the Netherlands, with more markets planned for 2027. Our product team is small and was set up as a team of its own only recently, so you will shape a lot. You report to the CPO and work closely with him; you and our engineering lead get your areas built together: you own the what and why, engineering owns the how.

• Own product areas on the platform: understand the problem, decide what we build, write the requirements, and follow changes through release and into real use.
• Define roadmap themes and outcome goals together with the CPO and internal stakeholders.
• Order and refine the work on your areas with engineering: you lead refinement and decide the order, engineering owns the technical solution and challenges scope and feasibility early.
• Give the engineers requirements they can build from and fast answers when something is unclear.
• Work with the people closest to our users: customer success, sales, our security experts, partners, and the users themselves.
• Shape and keep improving the way we develop products, from the first request to the release.

• Experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager working directly with a software engineering team.
• Given a problem, you work out several ways to solve it, test them against data and user feedback, and turn the best one into a concept.
• You work independently and keep the CPO informed on your own initiative, including the decisions you take.
• You plan your work and say early when a date is going to slip.
• Strong communication skills in English; German is a plus.
• We fill this role at regular or senior level. Senior means several years as a Product Owner or Product Manager, a product area you have run on your own. From the start the larger areas, their roadmap with the CPO, and the partner conversations about them will be in your own hands.

• Experience with B2B platforms, partner-driven business models (B2B2B), or the insurance or cybersecurity sector.
• Consulting experience.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools in product work.

• Taking over live product areas and shipping your first changes within a few weeks.
• Building new products for our insurance partners and their SME customers, expanding the platform we have.
• Using AI tools in daily product work and pushing them further with us.
• Sitting in on partner conversations with some of Germany's largest insurers.
