Senior Production Geologist

Job Title : Senior Production Geologist Department: Reservoir Development & Strategic Integration (RDSI) Location: Lagos Directly Reports to : AGM Reservoir Development Supervises: Associate PGs and Lead PGs JOB SUMMARY To develop and mature OML 30 field development plans with the aim of growing asset production to at least 100Kbopd. The successful candidate will join a competent team of geoscientists responsible for integrating multidisciplinary data to generate and mature near-, mid- and long-term oil adding opportunities. He/she will mainly work in the Subsurface team and with the Petroleum Engineering Functions to address technical deliverables as assigned by the team leadership. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Supervise and participate in geological reservoir studies aimed at constructing and/or improving geological models. 2. Apply state of the art interpretation and evaluation technology in the delivery of integrated, predictive subsurface/geological models in line with the industry best practice. Sound and working knowledge of seismic, production and reservoir geological processes is a must. 3. Integrate seismic & well information and working with petrophysicists as required to define stratigraphic frameworks and the properties of target reservoirs. This will include deliverables such as maps, correlation panels and structural cross-sections. 4. Deliver first class geological support to workover and drilling operations. 5. Work closely with Reservoir Engineers and Production Technologists to deliver robust history-matched dynamic models. 6. Ensure that new well and workover proposals have a solid geological basis. Timely delivery of robust and technically excellent subsurface studies and development plans. 7. Coordinate and validate the preparation of geological requirements and predictions of exploration, appraisal and development wells. 8. Provide critical input to field data gathering and reservoir monitoring programs. 9. Maintain accurate and comprehensive databases of data gathered in conjunction with Geoscience team members. 10. Evaluate and communicate geological uncertainties feeding into additional data acquisition plans and capture in uncertainty analysis and reservoir modelling. 11. Prepare and present professional-quality presentation materials internally to technical peers and management, and externally to partners (JV, government and other third parties). 12. Coach, mentor and develop young geoscientists on relevant skills. QUALIFICATION 1. Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geophysics or Petroleum Geosciences. Advanced degrees will be an added advantage. 2.Minimum of 10 years in Production Geoscience, Reservoir modelling and Field Development Planning and well execution, gained preferably from working for an oil and gas operating company. REQUISITE TECHNICAL & BEHAVIOURAL SKILL 1.Strong skill in Seismic interpretation, reservoir modelling.
