The Opportunity
Your Impact Starts Here
Are you ready to tackle some of the most complex and rewarding challenges in the industry? In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with brilliant minds and contribute to high-profile projects that are changing the landscape of our world.
As a Senior Structural Engineer in our Resources Engineering group, you will apply your structural design expertise to heavy industrial and mining projects from conceptual design through completion. Based in Saskatchewan and working within our hybrid model, you will make sound technical decisions, deliver cost-effective solutions, strengthen client relationships, and guide designers while helping WSP create safe, resilient infrastructure for the resources sector.
Your Impact
Lead structural design and calculations for concrete and steel buildings and heavy industrial structures from concept through completion.
Make and document sound technical decisions that protect safety, quality, constructability, cost effectiveness, and client outcomes.
Coordinate structural work with engineering disciplines, designers, clients, and contractors to enable integrated project delivery.
Produce and review technical reports, construction specifications, calculations, drawings, and other structural deliverables.
Assess existing structures through site investigations, inspections, and field reviews, then translate findings into practical recommendations.
Guide designers and developing professionals while strengthening consistent technical quality across the Resources Engineering team.
The Skills That Set You Apart
Registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan in structural engineering.
Substantial Canadian experience designing concrete and steel structures for mining, heavy industrial, or comparable resource-sector projects.
Advanced knowledge of Canadian structural codes and standards and the ability to apply them to complex industrial design decisions.
Proficiency with structural design and analysis software such as S-FRAME, STAAD.Pro, or SAP2000.
Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for technical matters, exercise professional judgement, and deliver high-quality work with limited direction.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design inputs and guiding designers within a project-team environment.
Ability to communicate complex structural information clearly in English through calculations, reports, specifications, meetings, and client discussions, supported by working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Experience working directly with clients and contractors, combined with availability for occasional travel, site investigations, inspections, project meetings, and field reviews.
