About the role:
As a Senior Program Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, launch, and execution of I&C scope for AP1000® new build opportunities within Westinghouse's Operating Plants Business Unit. The Program Manager will oversee various aspects of the new plant opportunities with a focus on the VC Summer restart project. This will include implementing sound project management tools and practices, ensuring contractual requirements are met and remain within committed scope, and supporting commercial discussions. You can expect to lead project teams of up to 15 people, including project managers and project controls personnel.
You will report to the I&C Project Director of VC Summer and be located at our Cranberry Township, PA facility. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, blending remote flexibility with regular (typically 2-3 days / week) on-site collaboration at our office. Travel in this role is estimated at 10–20%.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project initiation: Support the business development team by participating in the project execution contract development process.
- Project planning: Complete all aspects of the planning process, including supporting project plans and developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines.
- Project governance: Provide guidance and oversight to supporting PMs, project engineers and matrixed project support personnel throughout the life of the program.
- Project execution: Interpret, transmit, and lead project and contract requirements, including subsequent changes, through an integrated change management process.
- Project monitoring: Follow department protocols for acquiring team members to complete the work, based on program strategy.
- Project communication: Lead and facilitate communication and collaboration among team members, customer, and external vendors.
Qualifications:
- 12+ years of project management or controls experience; in a technical role in the nuclear, technical, or construction industry. Experience on electrical or I&C projects is an advantage but not required.
- Bachelor's degree required. MBA or advanced degree is preferred. Applicable disciplines include Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline. Focus on electrical and/or I&C is a plus.
- Demonstrated understanding of transforming data into information for visual reports, database concepts for managing data within systems, and company functions that support projects, including Finance, Legal, Quality, and Supply Chain.
- Westinghouse Project Manager or Program Manager qualification completed, with interest in pursuing Program Manager qualification if not already completed. External candidates will complete Program Manager qualification within the designated period.
- PMI® Certified Project or Program Management Professional certification, or equivalent project management certification, completed or in progress. Project controls-related certification in scheduling, estimating, earned value, or risk is preferred.
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $144,000 to $180,00 per year.
